I stayed at view point for about 12 days total in november 2011.
I was mainly looking for a place with decent in-room wifi. I had checked out 5 or 6 different places in town, all of which had either no working wifi ("the technician is coming", they all say), poor reception, frequent disconnections or just a painfully slow connection. View point was the first place I saw with full signal and fast speeds. It wasnt always perfect as a freak problem with one of the routers prevented full internet access sometimes, but overall, I enjoyed it.
Otherwise the hotel was very cozy and convenient, with manager Gopal running things with a great smile ane perfect manners. Everything was very clean, hot water and good water pressure at all times, comfy bed. Numerous power outlets make charging convenient. The food is very nice and is up to par with most restaurants I've tried in town. There is also a complimentary computer in the lobby for guests.
One comment I do have which doesnt really concern the hotel itself - the surroundings seen from the room and outside of it are truly hideous. Its basically a neglected junkyard, which is typical of nepal in general, but still a little strange for an area with so many decent hotels. So hard to clean it up?...
