This hotel really needs renovating. It smells moldy, and the carpet is dirty. There is a limited selection of food items at the restaurants, and the food is not that great. There is an insect problem. The rooms are dingy and my bed was not level. The bathrooms were not that great, and housekeeping only provides one towel. The elevator shut down for several minutes while one of my colleagues was in it, and he refused to use the elevator after this incident.

I have stayed for 10 nights in Ibis, Lome city and found hotel location, atmosphere, cleanliness all was upto standard in a small African city like Lome.
However, the Food is not upto the standard including Breakfast which cost abt 11-12dollars and not worth for such price...
This hotel has only one outdoor restaurant which serves very small selection of disshes which are neither tasty nor priced reasonably.
City does not have choice of restaurants.

Firstly, this hotel is over-priced. Real luxury is available in this price-range elsewhere in Lome, while at best Ibis is a very average business hotel. You don't just pay for the room: you pay a lot for internet access, and outrageous prices for catering. And since the surrounding area is dangerous, you don't have a lot of choice.

Secondly, the staff and the whole management model are downright unpleasant: high prices for just about anything a guest might want. For example, I wanted to sit by the pool and listen to the jazz band. I wasn't just hassled to buy an over-priced drink: I was ordered to buy one or leave, never mind how much I was paying for a room. When I refused to go and refused to place an order, there was a look of real fear on the waitress' face: she was hassling me because she had to do so, and was afraid that she might lose her job because I wasn't playing ball.

Oh: what was supposed to be a double room was a little cell-like structure. Clean at ground level, but dust and mould were visible on and near to the ceiling. No 'fridge, minimal toiletries. Door to the balcony could not be opened.

Only the reception area is magnificent, reflecting the past glory of this hotel, before Ibis bought it and ruined it.

food is expensive, staff rude/unfriendly but you are close tothe beach. oh, and if you swim laps-this pool is very nice.
