I stayed for 10 days during a business trip. There are not many hotels in Lome but when talking to colleagues staying in the same and other hotels in town I think this was the worst. First of all the mouldy smell in the rooms which came from fungi growing on one of the walls. The aircon made a lot of noise so I ended up not using it. Breakfast is very basic. But the worst were the rats in the restaurant - running around on the floor and on the beams under the ceiling - but being the only restaurant in the hotel and working late we had dinner there several times and rats always there (got kind of used to them).
Staff friendly and helpful but be aware that the reception will only exchange max. 50EUR at a time. Despite the sad state of the room, the staff made a good job in keeping it clean.
I have stayed in many hotels in Africa .. but for the price I expect a lot more than this.

The Ibis Hotel in Lome is a better option than many other hotels in the city but that doesn’t mean this is a great option. Ibis is overpriced for what it offers. The building is getting older and as such getting run down.

The food in the Ibis Hotel was decent but nothing special. The internet was pretty terrible and, for a business hotel, I found this more than irritating. They ran out of internet logins and didn’t offer any solutions.

The best part of the Ibis Hotel is the woman who works the front desk, Liebre! She was so nice and friendly and patient with me and my lack of French. She always greeted me with a smile and was very efficient and quick to process requests.

This hotel really needs renovating. It smells moldy, and the carpet is dirty. There is a limited selection of food items at the restaurants, and the food is not that great. There is an insect problem. The rooms are dingy and my bed was not level. The bathrooms were not that great, and housekeeping only provides one towel. The elevator shut down for several minutes while one of my colleagues was in it, and he refused to use the elevator after this incident.
