We stayed here as a stopover before and after our tour of Namibia. We had a different experience in our two stays. Our first room was very basic. The shower screen over the bath leaked, flooding the bathroom floor. The pillows and bed were very hard. We had to turn off the air conditioning because it was faulty causing excessive noise. In summary we had little sleep despite being tired after a long flight. At the end of our tour we were allocated a much better room – larger with a separate walk in shower, softer pillows and usable air conditioning. Still not much of a view though. Service at reception, bar and restaurant etc was good. We are not big fans of the buffet but food at the Kokerboom restaurant was okay. Some dishes ran out quickly so you need to arrive early to ensure a full selection. There are better restaurants to be found in Windhoek if you know where to look and travel by taxi. In particular we would recommend the King Kauluma Gardens Resturant at Villa Verdi. This hotel is most suited to a short business trip or a stopover.
