Sheraton Addis is from another world in good and bad. It's completely different from any other hotel in Addis. The rooms are superb as well as the public areas. Breakfast is good though it’s possible to get stomach problems from Sheraton as well. I’ve stayed here for three weeks all together. A very very big minus from lack of a gym!

The monopolistic atitude of the Sheraton despite the emergence of many other hotels inAddis was due to its service and location. Now the location remains
They are raising their rates to high limits and have also converted their room service menu to USD pricing.their billing will often include unused mini bar charges and if you dont check will end with a oops!
The old dedicated staff is a boon with their courtesy but they seem to share the idea of the good old days with old customers. The hotel is cutting too many corners in its services and amenities the toiletries have gone down too...their breakfast is now pathetic..the baked beans were abominable! and they seem to favor some nationalites over others.
The best rooms are those facing the fountains.On the other side one faces the beautiful hills of Addis but marred by dirty and unkempt national flags of many countries on the Sheraton flagline

This is the finest hotel in all of Addis Ababa, and would certainly rate as a top 100 hotel on the planet. Really nice and well kept, high class hotel. I have stayed here on many occassions and for the price, it is hard to beat. The location is not the best as you will need a taxi to get to shopping, etc. But taxis are very cheap, easy and safe. Located on a hill overlooking the city with nice views from your room. Most rooms have a small balcony or way to view the sunsets. Well worth staying at this hotel.

The Sheraton Addis is visually stunning both inside and outside and lives up to the quality that one would expect from a Sheraton Hotel. This hotel is strangely incongruous for Ethiopia and even for Addis which is wholly different to the rest of Ethiopia. The rich and famous are to be seen in abundance. Life is very different outside. Reasonably good service and very comfortable rooms. The buffet was disappointing however.
