Our party had an otherwise very nice stay up through the end of a week-long stay. Sadly, a notebook computer was removed from our room in our absence. When we reported it, the front desk and manager showed little concern. After our departure, we put lots of pressure on the hotel to find the notebook (our company is a large corporate customer). Low and behold, they found the computer. Despite repeated promises, the hotel failed to send the computer to us. After almost 10 weeks, a local employee had to physically retrieve the computer from the Merina.
If you're a business traveler, avoid the Merina. Rooms are not secure and management not trustworthy.
