“Dirty, noisy, unsafe. Avoid!”
We ended up in this hotel after a taxi driver dropped us off there (instead of at the hotel we had booked at). The receptionist nodded enthusiastically when he heard our names, and pretended we had a reservation. We only found out when a colleague didn't show up for a meeting half an hour later.
I have been in a lot of hotels in my life, and I'll keep this review short and simple. The rooms are dirty and small (9th floor). The tv did work, but gave such terrible sound and image that it is unwatchable. There is Internet available, but only at the first floor. A few rooms next to me was a family with a crying baby, so I can testify that sound insulation is non-existent. An empty beer bottle on a table at the elevators on my floor, there when I checked in, was still there when I left.
The room door lock was flimsy and faulty, so that the door could be opened with a hard push. There is no safe available, and people walk in and out without being even only marginally checked by staff.
I did not have the "pleasure" of trying the breakfast, as I had a very early flight out of Tunis. Maybe it was because of the fact that it was the middle of the night, but the shower produced only cold water.
There are many many better hotels in Tunis, many of which are to be had for the same price or a few dinars more. Save yourself the frustration and check in at one of these.
