“Old dirty hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2010

We booked this hotel through airmiles and their headline was "Good, centrally located hotel with comfortable rooms" nothing in this sentence it is actually true!
Rooms are dingy and dirty not to mention the bathroom which can be classified as a bog standard! Breakfast has nothing fresh but the bread and concierge staff were quite difficult to deal with and dodgy at times. My suggestion is if you have to spend one night in Tunis find something else!

“Customer Service Was As Bad As I've Ever Experienced”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2009

Hotel was quite nice and bathrooms clean but the bedrooms were dusty and the bed linen had cigarette burns in it! The worst thing was being frogmatched by the concierge to a bank to withdraw money to pay the bill because the Hotel had a problem with its bank and it would not accept my card. I had cleared the card before going to Tunis to avoid any problems but asked them to call the number on my card so I could find out what the problem was. They confirmed in front of the receptionist there was no problem with either the card or the balance of the account and they had the problem. Didn't notice till after I paid the bill in cash (fortunately I had just enough extra money to cover the money above my daily card withdrawal) but they even charged me for the telephone call confiming my card was OK.

“Dirty, noisy, unsafe. Avoid!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2009

We ended up in this hotel after a taxi driver dropped us off there (instead of at the hotel we had booked at). The receptionist nodded enthusiastically when he heard our names, and pretended we had a reservation. We only found out when a colleague didn't show up for a meeting half an hour later.

I have been in a lot of hotels in my life, and I'll keep this review short and simple. The rooms are dirty and small (9th floor). The tv did work, but gave such terrible sound and image that it is unwatchable. There is Internet available, but only at the first floor. A few rooms next to me was a family with a crying baby, so I can testify that sound insulation is non-existent. An empty beer bottle on a table at the elevators on my floor, there when I checked in, was still there when I left.

The room door lock was flimsy and faulty, so that the door could be opened with a hard push. There is no safe available, and people walk in and out without being even only marginally checked by staff.

I did not have the "pleasure" of trying the breakfast, as I had a very early flight out of Tunis. Maybe it was because of the fact that it was the middle of the night, but the shower produced only cold water.

There are many many better hotels in Tunis, many of which are to be had for the same price or a few dinars more. Save yourself the frustration and check in at one of these.
