The hotel (self-proclaimed 3 stars) and its location are fine. As of Jan 2012 there appear to be at least two kinds of rooms - older one's and renovated one's. We were first in one of the new ones - really new and clean, though window faced the back alley with some unfortunate smell when opening the window.
Unfortunately, renovating these rooms makes lot of noise and on our first morning we woke up to someone applying a sledge hammer to a neighbouring wall. Changing rooms was easy and uncomplicated. We moved into one of the "older rooms", which was still comfortable and had a view - yet it can't be compared to the elegance of the new ones! Additionally, the hook holding the shower head in place was broken, toilet water cistern wasn't working properly and the heating couldn't be turned down for the first day which was a bit annoying (but not enough to make us shift rooms again).
Reception staff were very professional and efficient. Breakfast buffet is fine and includes a good range of foods. Wireless is available free of charge and one gets good reception. Based on our stay, I'd give it 3.5/5 points - the reduction as a result of the room/appliances problems, the construction noise and the stark contrast between rooms. Other than that, it's a nice, clean hotel with a good location in town.
**As always, avoid the taxis waiting outside the hotel - you'll pay two or three times as much. A trip to the airport should cost roughly between 4 and 6 Dinar.**
