“3 nights in Tozeur”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2009

We experienced the friendliest hotel staff of our entire trip! Food was yummy, and they graciously accommodated our vegetarian requests. Mmm… harrissa…
The hotel was a little more rustic than we had hoped, but clean and a good value overall. We didn’t like the two twin beds that are supposed to equal a queen bed, but the rest of the room was fine.
The other reviewers have provided an accurate description of this hotel. It’s a good base for exploring the region.

“Loved This Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2009

I spent 3 nights in this hotel in November and I loved it. I was part of a tour group with Vantage Travel. During our almost 3 wks in Tunisia this was one of my favorite hotels. It was a beautiful hotel, stafff was very friendly and polite, room very comfortable and we also had some very good meals. I had a massage and was shocked to have a male and especially surprised when he told me to "take it off" while he just stood there. Once I got over the initial shock I must say it was one of the best massages I have ever received and the price was reasonable. I do have to agree with one of the other reviews here regarding the internet - that experience was awful. You had to pay to use the computer and it was so old and slow that I just eventually gave up. That would be my only complaint. I would love to go back on this same trip next year and stay in this same hotel again !!!! We all had a great time.

  • Liked — Very beautiful hotel and clean and handsome waiters in the restaurant
  • Disliked — The internet connection

“Beautiful hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2008

I stayed in this hotel for only 2 nights during November. Rooms are comfortable and spacey, although I 've see larger rooms in the same * category hotels elsewhere in Tunisia. Toilet area separated for the bath area, clean and tidy. Sometimes a not-so-nice smell was coming from the toilet area, but I think it had to do mostly with the quality of water in the area, rather than the hotel sewadge its self! Some better ventilation would be advisable though!
Hotel public areas are VERY beautiful. Nice architecture, large areas, and I loved seatting in the outside reception area during evenings or even mornings. Outside pool seemed to be a bit small for the size of the hotel, and may be crowdy during summer. Inside pool and spa very clean.
I booked pedicure and full body massage. Therapists spoke English which was a relief (although I speak some French, I feel more confortable communicating in English), because the majority of guests seem to be French coming on a Jet Tours agency, and not too many independant travellers or other nationalities around (I am Greek). Bear in mind that in Tunisia (not only in this hotel, all over Tunisia), practices about nudity differ from other countries. When you are stripping your self, therapists will not go out of the room till you lie down, and will not provide any towels to cover eg your chest etc. Massage was good, but nothing special. Then, onto pedicure at the other room, therapist left a couple of time to go and see guests outside, and an other therapist entered the room to talk to her, which is a bit unproffesional. Except that, both girls were very polite and smiley .
About food, there was variety and quantity, but service of beverrages could get a bit slow at times. Restaurant staff very polite though.
There is a disco on site, which was empty and sleepy when I was there, I guess case will be different during the summer.
There is an old PC for internet, but connection is too slow and won't let you open all sites you may need,
Hotel staff was very very polite and smiley.
Overall, a nice hotel and a pleasant experience, just a couple of things need to be improved!
: )

  • Liked — Smiley staff, beautiful relaxing public areas!
  • Disliked — Toilet smelled bad sometimes. Would be nice to have fast and efficient internet connection!

“Great stay! Very impressed!”

Stayed just one night, but it was a great stay. The food was fabulous, the service was very professional. The room was very nice. The bathoom was also fabulous. Awesome shower, and that is very hard to find in Tunisia!! It was a little away from the main part of town, but not too far away. They have horse and carriages awaiting outside the resort that you can take for a tour.

Did an excursion to the desert, it was $30 per person. The hotel arranged and it was great!

Many choices in this area, but I paid $100 from expedia. Well worth it. Would go back in a heart beat!

  • Liked — decor, cleanliness, food and the internet actually works!!!
  • Disliked — can't think of one thing
