I stayed in this hotel in august 2005 with my girlfriend for one night. Matmata is a fantastic place to visit (one of the best place in Tunisia). If you want to sleep in matmata and if you want to stay in a troglodite house you must stay in this hotel. Cleaness was Ok, but you have to consider that the rooms are small caverns, so it is impossible to have the same cleaness level of a standard hotel! Nice poll with a fantastic view. Dinner and breakfast was good. Matmata is amazing !

this is a troglodyte style cave room ... with a flimsy shower. It does get quite cold in the room. Breakfast variety was very limited. (We were travelling on a package tour.) We experienced our first cockroach sighting in Tunis (2 of them); and this hotel delivered us 1 in the morning. Having travelled quite a bit, I know they exist in every hotel and restaurant, but this was the first/second time I have ever seen them in a hotel room. Nothing too fancy here, but kind of a cute experience to say we slept in a troglodyte hotel in Tunisia. (Best place to buy desert roses - decent ones at a decent price)

this hotel is in the mountains in Matmata. The restraunt is nice and the bar area also.The food was good. The rooms when I was there were cold (tile floors) and heat wasnt working. the bathroom is very small and basic.
shower was tiny and hand held. The view outside of the hotel is lovely, but you dont see that from the rooms.
they have a pool also.
