I honestly don’t remember anything negative about our stay at the Sopa Serengeti Lodge. Upon arrival we were greeted immediately with a warm washcloth and a glass of watermelon juice. The food was good and the rooms were nice. Since the lodge is in the middle of the Serengeti it is possible to see wild safari animals from your balcony. The most memorable thing for me during my stay at this lodge was 1.) The wild elephants (including a very adorable baby elephant) grazing while we were in the pool outside and 2.) The monkeys - after being on my balcony I stepped inside to take a shower. When I walked out of the bathroom there was a monkey on my bed! Apparently I didn't shut my balcony door all the way and I left some food around. He scattered back out the door as soon as he saw me but not before he grabbed a bag of cashews I had left on my nightstand. It was not dangerous but if you do not like the idea of this then I suggest making sure the balcony door is shut at all times (I thought it was very cool!) There were a lot of people staying there which leads me to believe it is very popular.

Looks a bit used, but the rooms are OK and the location unbeatable.

The staff are great and made our stay memorable. Excellent food and clean, comfortable rooms. Saw loads of wildlife from our balcony. Loved the staff choir.
