This lovely rustic hotel is tucked away amid large shady trees and set in lush tropical gardens. This has to be Dar's biggest secret. I lived in Dar for 2 years and have visited more than a dozen times since leaving there and had only heard of the place once. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom was spotless and in good working order. The menu has to be the best in Dar with a wide variety of food cooked by a truly gifted chef. The dishes are pricey but I forgave that since I was so pleased with the accommodations. The staff couldn't have been nicer except for one woman on the desk who asked late one evening when I was paying. I had already paid for my accommodation and had yet to finish dinner. It made me angry as it seemed like perhaps I would creep away without paying for my food. Picture that, a middle aged lady humping down a dark Tanzanian road after mid-night just to escape paying her bill. Please! Otherwise the stay was without incident. I was happy to watch the tide come and go every day. Will I go back? ABSOLUTELY.
