We did stay at DAR SULTAN in OCTOBER 2011 with our friends and we had a very nice time
Every bedroom has got a different decor, it is very nice and tasty - typic marocan style
The staff is always here for you - the breakfast is unbelievable - a table full of goods cakes, pastries, jams, cheese, toast, fresh fruit...
Maiite the owner and all the staff are very friendly and make you fell like you are at home - every day you bedroom is done and you find every day a little touch from the house, cakes, marocan pastries, chocolate, bottle of water
My husband and I stayed in the CHARF ROOM with the private terrace - very nice bedroom and location too as you have a nice view on the port and the beach - our terrace is a nice place to relax - you fell just like home
We really did enjoy it and it is so close from everything in TANGER, kasbah, medina, beach, port...
Once again thank you so much for your hospitality - our stay was very memorable

If you are looking for a small and private hotel DAR SULTAN is the ONE - a guest house full of charm in the middle of the Kasbah where you fell so welcome

Room Tip: All the bedroom have got a different decor but the CHARF ROOM is the biggest with a private terrace...

“Fantastic, homely hotel - a gem!!”

This was our first trip to Africa and we were quite dubious about what we would find. However, the hotel was superb - each room individually decorated in traditional Moroccan style. We actually stayed in 2 different rooms during our stay - and they were both lovely. Each day we were presented with a little dish of sweets. The staff and owner were so friendly it was hard to leave at the end of our stay. One of the best bits of our stay was the traditional Moroccan meal which we had ordered for the first night. We felt so special as the staff brought out each course, beautifully presented and had even bought a birthday cake for the member of our party who was celebrating his birthday - and presents for each couple.
The hotel is within walking distance of everything you will want to see in Tangier.

Room Tip: The room at the top of the building (Charf) is lovely - has its own private terrace and you can slee...

“Wonderful Experience”

Great guesthouse in the Medina - the perfect location to see Tangier's old quarters and experience the slower pace, great food, and meandering streets where all kinds of merchandise is available - from the exotic leather products to the food market. The hotel has 6 rooms, very hospitable staff, spotless, decorated with local crafts, and provides a copious and varied breakfast on the 4th floor deck. Best room is on the top floor with private deck. Reserve early it is a popular spot. My room had air con although the breeze of Tangier and the general quiet of the area allows for open windows (no mosquitos) and I certainly did not us the television set. No phone in rooms and bring your own plug adaptors. Enjoy.

Room Tip: Best room on the top floor wiht private deck

“A haven in heaven!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2011

We recently stayed at this wonderful Riad to celebrate our anniversary. We had the room at the top with the private terrace, the views are amazing but if you dont like to climb stairs then dont have this one. We ate breakfast on our terrace and anything you would like was available. The staff are kind and feel like family making you instantly feel welcome and relaxed. A real home from home experience. Nadia who runs the house is also a great chef. She lovingly prepared a home cooked Moroccan feast with lovely flavour and good presentaion, we chose Morrocan wine to compliment our meal a little pricey but very good. The star guest was Mimi a big fat cat who clearly is a a queen in the cat world.!!! She even wears a collar with a crown!! The meal was personal, and all attention to detail was clear. We had a fab 2 night stay away from the hustle bustle of the Kasbah which is where this Riad is. The only thing that spoilt the stay was the persistent locals that would not leave us alone for a second, so a stroll out became a mission to get to anywhere unbothered....but that is Morocco . We have stayed in some fantastic hotels but Dar Sultan was " special" we will be back one day to see our new friends. Thank you.

Room Tip: The terrace room is best but steep stairs
