My first trip to Morocco was back in 1984,then again in 1991 in the same hotel "Chellah."How can anyone criticise this wonderful country,it's friendly people and the spotlessly clean hotel....not to mention the lovely food...perfect.
However i am on about going again,if not this year then the next to the same hotel, and hopefully,to see the same photographer who had recognised me previously.Sorry but i have forgotten his name...but never his friendly face.
Visit the Medina is a must, and its easy to get there on foot, although it is quite a way.Just make sure you know how to get out of the market..it's easy when you know the secret.Moroccan night is fantastic but be prepared to tip up on every act.Theres a great little cheap bar called the Juan -de-argo just down the road,it may be rough but its very welcoming, but if you carry on right to the end of the road..the big hotel where Humphrey Bogart and Sir Winston Churchill stayed..they have a fantastic night club. Its well worth just getting around on foot to discover things for yourself....quite interesting and, please don't be afraid to talk to the locals..you can learn quite a lot from these lovely people......especially the night watchmen on every street corner.Although it may have changed from when i was there all those years ago...i still love the place and its culture, and so different.
