Probably the best place of its type that I´ve ever stayed in. Perfect location right at the top of Tangier´s kasbah with a wonderful split level rooftop terrace and magnificent views over the Atlantic on one side and the city and distant mountains on the other. This charming riad has been tastefully and professionally restored and the rooms come in all shapes and sizes, are individually decorated and have good quality linen and accessories. In the evening, the whole house is beautifully lit with candles and strategically placed lamps, and on the cold winter nights that we were there, there was always a log fire blazing away in the comfortable sitting area and jazz playing unobtrusively in the background (classical music in the mornings). Excellent breakfast: juice, fruit, eggs, Moroccan cheeses, breads and preserves and coffee or mint tea. The traditional Moroccan dinner we had one night was very good too but there are also some great restaurants nearby in the medina. On our trip, all of the staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient and also very helpful with practical advice on places of interest to visit in Tangier and train information for our onward journey to Fez. Highly recommended.
