My friend and I stayed here on our first night in Morocco and couldn't have been happier. The staff was very helpful and kind and the riad was incredibly clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend it.

We made a big mistake in missing La Tangerina. I need air conditioning due to asthma and can't climb a lot of staris due to an accident. Also, I was not sure how to get to the hotel. Past reviews did not help us in this case so we booked the Husa Hotel (a 5 star dump) instead. Please see my review of that one so you don't make the same mistake..

One afternoon we took a taxi to LaTangerina and spent a leisurely hour sipping tea with the owner, Farina. She is both charming and beautiful. I found the stairs to be reasonable even though it was 4 flights up to the roof garden. I also found that this hotel does not need air conditioning because there is always a gentle breeze coming in from the sea. Getting there is easy by taxi and the views from the roof garden are incredible.

We looked at several rooms. They are small but adequate. I hope we can visit Tangier again and next time this will be our home away from home.

We found La Tangerina on Tripadvisor. I can't find the words to fully describe our experience but all I'll say is that if you want to feel at home in Tangier, stay at La Tangerina. Farida, the owner is a warm and graceful host. We felt like we new her for decades. They really make you feel like you are a guest in their home and not in a hotel. The rooftop is spectacular and the breakfast is amazing. Fresh bread and jams and cheese, great coffee and tea. Farida and her husband put their heart and soul in to every little detail at every corner and in every space to make La Tangerina cozy, welcoming and a fantastic experience. Thank you millions!

We arrived at night, and upon entering the guest house, it was like we had stepped back in time to the 50s. They had Jazz playing on the radio that resonated throughout the house and the rooftop, the ambience was just magical! Quite a few rooms were not occupied, so we took a quick peak, and they all looked gorgeous!

The staff were really nice and made our stay very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

One thing though, we had called them a day earlier to ask for a taxi to pick us up from the train station since we were arriving late. The taxi never arrived, and we had to find our own way to the hotel. It seemed that the staff had ordered a taxi, but it somehow didn't come. Not sure who's fault it was, but it all worked out at the end!
