I am currently staying at The Mirage with my parents and even though the hotel is amazing, we are every day treated worse by the staff. The place is quiet and heavenly, so relaxing. You are 5 mins walk from grotte d Hercules and from the beach (one part is only available for resident of Le Mirage as it is the Kings beach, next to his palace), with beautiful clean waters and spotless sand. The garden is lovely and very well appointed, gardeners tend to it all day.
Cable internet or good wifi in rooms and in the garden.
very good cleaning and the cleaning ladies are very friendly.
The s...y service becomes unbearable after a few days. They will never get out of their way to help and will speak to you like crap constantly. For the price paid, you would expect a bit more concern. The worst is at the restaurant. The waiter yesterday literally barked at us when we sat at the wrong table.there were only 2 ppl sitting outside the restaurant...then another one asked us why we sat at a table for 5 ppl when we were only 3. At this point I was quite pissed off and said that the other guy told us so. they constantly forget items on the table (napkins are the worst) and they are pissed off when you ask for it. Most of the staff speak little or no french (forget about english or spanish straight away), which is not normal in a 5 star hotel. The food is excellent every time though, try the duck in gerkins and pepper sauce, the fish tajine or the appetizers plate. For dessert, ice cream coupe mokaramel with the fresh meringue.
Breakfast is ordinary with limited choice(no buffet) and ,if you eat i at the restaurant, it is full of wasps which dive in your food and its disgusting . The staff one more time couldn't care less about it. it therefore forces you to have breakfast in your room, with majoration of 40 dirham...
The rooms are appointed in bungalow style ,with small terrace and table/chairs, which is very nice to chill at night or during the day if you want some privacy but still stay outside. The rooms are HUGE, with separation between living room and bedroom. air co working really well. Very nice bathrooms with bath/ shower but the free toiletries are not good quality. The pillows are too rough for me but the beds are very comfy. Lots of international channels (bbc, ITV,CNN, France 2 et 3...)The door to my bungalow is jammed so its a pain every time to close it.
overall it could easily be 5 stars if the staff wasn't that detestable. but,as my mum phrases it, it is full all the time so they don't give a toss.
Room Tip: They opened a new aisle with another swimming pool and suites/ rooms with sea view. They cost the sa...
