I guess this hotel was something special in the middle of the last century but lack of maintenance has made it something of a relic from the past. The rooms are large with high ceilings. Flakes of plaster had fallen on to the carpet. The decor was very dated. In spite of all of this, the bedding was clean and comfy. The breakfast was plentiful and we found it was best to wait for fresh supplies of bread, croissants, and fruit before the flies had time to settle! There was a constant supply of hot coffee and fruit drinks. The reception staff were very helpful and the senior receptionist had a very good command of english and was able to attend to all our needs. he did recommend an excellent Asian restaurant ( Vietnamese/french owners)-La Pagode in Rue de Boussairi, a ten minute walk away. The best point about the Hotel is its location. Just ten minutes from the beach and port area and a short walk from the Medina. Overall good value for money. ( we paid £47 for a triple room)
but would not want to stay for more than one night.
