I want to be sure to say nice things about this hotel, so I will begin by mentioning the amazing breakfast location, on a sun drenched porch with lovely ancient tile work overlooking the harbor. The waiters were polite and attentive, and the pastries hearty. The coffee was the usual watery beige event one expects in much of Morocco, but still, breakfast was nice. Our concierge was also pleasant, and we liked that the walk from the ferry to the hotel was brief. There was limitless nearly boiling hot water which we really enjoyed. Cable tv. Our room view of the harbor was fantastic.
On the negative side, our furniture was so old as to be literally decaying before our eyes and under our bottoms (sitting on the sofa I sank nearly to the floor). The old rug on the floor was stained and frayed beyond recognition, and there were strange photos in the room of an odd western man in turbans looming around the hotel. Our room door did not actually lock. Pictures all hung askance, often the contents of their frames also akimbo.
Most of my disappointment with this hotel was its decay. I mourn glory allowed to rot, and hotel was on a fast slide down.
