Of all the hotel options in Tangier, I'd highly recommend this one. I also saw the rooms at the much pricier El Minza hotel, and I though the rooms at the Ramada (now the Atlas) were larger, cleaner, and smelled better. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was terrific. There is limited wifi in the hotel lobby. The telephone was working only some of the time, but I don't believe that was the hotel's fault. The TV was terrific with an extensive channel selection including BBC News and CNN World. The hotel bar was quite nice, and the breakfast buffet a real treat. The location is great - in the newer part of town, on the beach and closer to some of the trendier bars and clubs in Tangier.

A few minutes drive from the railway station by taxi. Nice marble lobby. Hotel overlooks beach. Big balcony and nice sized room. Staff so so. Free wifi in lobby.

I am actually writing this review on the spot at the hotel lobby because the Ramada Les Almohades, which is advertised as a hotel with wifi acces, offers NO WIFI ACCESS in the rooms. Guests must go to the lobby and put up with the loud music coming from the lobby bar that stands some 10 ft. from where I'm sitting. In fact, it is more of a night club with live shows and belly dancers (not to mention non-guests that come in for the show). Problem is there are NO DOORS at all. Anyone staying in the lobby will hear the whole show and it is SO LOUD that it's IMPOSSIBLE to speak on the phone, make a Skype call or hold a regular conversation. SInce the hotel crew doesn't seem to care less about that I already made a complaint at the Ramada website.
SO if you want to stay in Tangier at a Hotel that has a proper wi fi access and\or a decent lobby, forget about the Ramada.
