“Nice, close to the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Everything was as promised. Booking through the Accord website. One night, 2 people. No problems. Polite and helpful staff. Good breakfast. New hotel in the new suburb, huge parking, close to everywhere. From the hotel we took the shortcut to the beach and walked along to the city and medina. In the night we return walking along the main street (several nice squares with fountains) and also along the beach. Easy and safe.

Clean hotel, cheap, no internet in rooms,
My car was broken into in their secure parking (security mans cabin right next to our car), they smashed the sunroof and stole two phones, manageress couldnt have cared less. We had to catch our boat so couldnt do anything about it. Kids car seats covered in glass, luckily kids not travelling with us.
Bunch of criminals, BEWARE

“Brand new hotel at a bargain price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

I found this hotel on the Ibis website and booked it due to the price approx US$65(incl breakfast for 2) as we were only staying 1 night. It was a great find and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The room was well presented, pristine clean and everything is new. The staff wer very helpful and accommodating, with a business centre where you can access a computer. The only downside is the location as it is a cab ride away from the old city but well worth it regardless. Be aware if you are booking the ferry from Tangier to Algeciris there are 2 different ports - make sure it is the one in the main section of town otherwise it is a A$30 cab ride and be aware the ferry does not always leave on time regardless of the advertised schedule.

Room Tip: The concierge can organise a taxis for you. Hotel is within walking distance to the train station an...

“Next to train station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

This is a brand new hotel about 100 yards from the train station. It has a small swimming pool and free internet access in the lobby. The rooms are new so they are clean and modern. You would have to take a taxi to the old section of the city and medina, but its a short ride for about 20dr. We walked back from the medina to the hotel along the coast road Ave Mohammed VI. When the sun is setting this is where all the locals hang out and walk up and down this coastal road. There are many restaurants, clubs and stores along this road. If you are traveling by train this hotel is in a perfect location. If you need a taxi you have to walk to the train station or get one off the street, taxis don't wait outside this hotel .

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice since its a new property

“The worst experience I have ever had”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

I stayed in this hotel recently (June 2011) and am still regretting my bad decision of throwing my money over this poorly-managed hotel. As we went upstairs to leave our baggage in the rooms and explore the city,. We had booked 2 rooms and we came to know that the key-card of one of the rooms we booked was not working. After many trials I contacted the reception and the sleepy (it was day time though), cold receptionist promised to send the technician in a short time. That short time was 1 HOUR though, we later came to know that! After many reminders and a long and frustrating wait the "technician" came. The man didn't know what to do AT ALL. He just started hitting the lock with a hammer and did nothing good but add to our already frustration. It was obvious that he was totally untrained and unprofessional for this job. He quit after an hour or longer and suggested to use the same entrance door (which was working, luckily) for both the rooms, what a professional advice! We waited for 2 HOURS, ruined our entire trip and wasted a good amount over that third-class hotel only to hear that the lock couldn't be repaired and also that no other room could be allocated to us. So live as it is! Not only this destroyed our planned trip but also left us feeling bad and frustrated n i don't think so we could enjoy the city later. We came back at hotel at night only to find uncomfortable beds awaiting us. It was very noisy and disturbing all night besides ur constant struggle to keep ur self from falling. None of us could sleep well all night. The next day aound 12: 10 we recieved 2 fone calls from the reception reminding us to leave the hotel IMMIDIATELY. The staff was very unprofessional, rude, UN-helpful and poorly-trained to run this famous chain of hotels. I have stayed at IBIS hotels in many countries (spain, france, England, Austria) but this was the worst experience i have ever had. NOT RECOMMENDED to anyone who's planning to visti Tangier!
