“Has room for improvement”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

Rabat's self-declared top address. Rooms can be very big with two king-sized beds for a double, overall style is modern with a few 60s touches and generally high quality standards. Drawbacks are a non-responsive staff and a kitchen which can be overwhelmed with the needs to cater for a larger group at breakfast - this is definitely below their five-stars image. Very central location right across from the Medina. If you are looking for a modern, business-like, and convenient place to stay and spend lots of money, go for it - otherwise there are quite a lot of more charming and more traditional hotels and riads available in the area.

“Not Good!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

There are very good hotels in the Tulip chain, this is not one. The room was stinky, smelled like smoke although was supposed to be non-smoking. The hotel needs an upgrade. It is close to the Palace and other sights, and convenient to transportation. I would not stay here again.

“Nice, clean rooms but the resturant is very expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Our one night stay was pleasent - the room was clean and tidy. However the drinks prices at the resturant were astronomical - we paid 65 dirhams for 1 coke and 1 bottle of water. The food was fair, but the service in the resturant left little to be desired.

“Rooms OK. Restaurant Pitiful.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

I stayed here on a business trip with a colleague. We both agreed that we would find a different hotel on our return to Rabat. The rooms are OK - typical layout and furniture was adequate and in good repair. Everything worked but the lock on the front door. I don't know how many times I went to the front desk to replace the key card. They just are very problematical. After a number of attempts, I found that if you varied the speed of insertion and withdrawal it eventually worked. But it was never the same speed! Maybe I wasn't holding my tongue right!

But the restaurant is another matter. Service is lousy and the food is even worse. Take a pass!

I felt sorry for management. They were genuinely nice and concerned that things were okay. When they asked if they were, I gave the Arabic hand signal for "noos noos" - 50-50. It was the restaurant, right?" was their response.
