“Great oasis of peace”

After 2 weeks in Marocco we gave up with B&B and other small hotels. I highly reccomand to spend a little more but spend a night in a nice and clean place. Even if the hotel was empty we received room where people could see us from the outside (in front of the outside restaurant). Since we spent only one night, we just closed the tends. Breakfast is good! We had expected much better food in Marocco: In reality we lost 4 kg each and we loved to eat in Mc Donalds ... (what a pity!!).

“VERY VERY SMALL ROOMS! DON'T STAY HERE”

I booked a room for my husband. If you look at their website the rooms look really spacious. I know that pictures can be very tricky!!! My husband had to jump on and off the bed to go from one side to the other. The desk butts right to the edge of the bed. Now, mind you I bought this hotel off the internet at 75.00 USD per night so I don't know if they reserve these doll house rooms for this purpose. My husband also stayed at the Bourgreg hotel, it is not luxurious my any means but at $55.00 USD per night, it is the better deal. The rooms at the Bourgreg were more spacious but you have to go to the lobby to use the internet. We will never stay at the Mercure again. It is really BAD!!

“Be wary”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2009

Overall, did not have a very enjoyable stay here. The hotel and rooms are clean, no complaint there. The rooms are very dark, both in decor and lighting. Internet is free but in the lobby area only, not in the rooms. A "non-smoking" room does not exist, despite what the staff may say. Only ate breakfast there and it was "eh". Two of us in our group had items stolen out of our rooms during the day when we were attending to business. Be warned.

If this is one of the better choices in Rabat, that is unfortunate.

“Acceptable hotel let down by restaurant service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2009

Stayed here for two nights on a round-trip of Morocco. Located in a quiet, safe area of Rabat close to the embassies, the hotel itself and the rooms are standard european 3 star quality. We were here during Rammadan and we were glad to see food and drinks were available during daytime. Service, however, as previously reported, was slow and, in the evenings while outside in the courtyard, ignorant of our presence. Food at lunch was pretty good and breakfast was OK as well. Was possible to get a beer here in the evenings during Rammadan which was great after a long, dry day in the city. We walked everywhere here during our stay. There is a nice beach and a trip to the casbah is very worthwhile as well. Back to the hotel - would recommend with reservations about the noise and poor service.

“Quiet location !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2009

This Mercure is an Ibis with a twist. My room was modern and clean, but tiny.Bathroom is OK.The worst part was the smell that impregnate the carpets on the corridor and enter our room.Like sewage, more or less. The breakfast is the usual fare in cheap accor hotels,I think is not worthwhile.Staff is a little intimidating at reception area, serious and not very kind.
Location has pros and cons,is in a quiet neighborhood, very close to Hassan II mosque and the panoramic views of Sale. But there are almost no restaurants in the vicinity and is a long walk from the city centre, lonely at night, but secure nevertheless.
