I last stayed in this hotel over a year ago when it was still quite new. It is still a very good value for the price paid based on its location and cleanliness, although it is beginning to show signs of age. I thought projecting the local soccer game on the side of the building above the pool area at night was an excellent idea. I was able to enjoy a very nice tajine de kefta while sitting outside and watching the soccer game. The hotel, itself, hasn't changed much since my last visit. I gave it four stars this time rather than five because of a few things: the internet wasn't working. I tried connecting evening and morning with my computer, iPad and iPhone and could not get a connection. That was disappointing. I have noticed this problem with many of the Ibis Hotels in Morocco. I realize the internet is free; however, it really should work. The carpet in the room was stained in several places which gave a less than great appearance. The air conditioning did work fine which was important since the temperature was well over 100 degrees F. The bed, while nicely sized, was not very comfortable. I woke up with a very stiff back from sleeping on it. And, the breakfast no longer included fresh orange juice, rather an orange drink mix. Disappointing given the citrus production in Morocco. Also, on the one day that I stayed in the hotel I had NO hot water in the shower. Another observation, the hotel consists of two floors yet the elevator has nine buttons. Just seemed weird to me and I wondered what would happen if I pushed a button for a non-existing floor?? Someone in another review complained about the gardiner trying to get money for being the parking guardian. There is a parking guardian. He does guard the cars all night. Yes, it is a private parking lot for the Ibis Hotel; however, it is NORMAL in Morocco to have a guardian even in the private parking lots and to tip them when you leave. Leaving even 2 or 3 euros (20 dirhams) is greatly appreciated from someone who is providing a service and just trying to make a living. There is an outdoor pool that is still in very good condition. I paid 54 euros for my room (around 60 dollars including breakfast). I continue to recommend this hotel because of the value and because of the location. A nearby hotel, the Zaki, is undergoing renovation and will become a competitor when finished but will not be in the price range of the Ibis. If you are looking for reasonably priced and well located rooms at this time, the Ibis is hard to beat.
