We, two couples, stayed at Riad Zehar for one week during christmas-time. Riad Zehar is located in the nicest neighbourhood within the Medina, Mouassine. It is located in a quiet street very close to shoppingstreets, the souks and the Jemma El Fna Square.

The Riad is very smal and intimate with only three rooms (two rooms for two and one for four, in which we stayed) and it looks just perfect with beautifull decorations everywhere! Breakfast is served every morning, in the courtyard or on the rooftop-terrace.

Our room, the room with two beds, is decorated beautifully. It had one room on the first floor, which also contained the tadelakt bathtub/shower. There is a small hallway which containes a toilet, a sink and a closet. Down the stairs is the second bedroom wich looks really romantic.

The host, Fatima, is so warm and caring! Not only does she serves you a cup of tea whenever you return from a long day on the streets of Marrakech, she also brings out a blanket when it's cold at night on the terrace and took care of us when we arrived past midnight after a delayed flight. Samira, the manager, speaks english very well and stops by the Riad (she also runs another one) regularly to help you out. She helped us when we wanted to visit a Hammam (a very nice authentical one), a trip to Ourika Valley and a taxi to the airport. She is a very modern and lovely lady!

We felt like leaving a family when leaving Marrakech!

I found myself unexpectedly at the Riad Zehar when plans for a desert excursion fell through and Samira graciously found room for me here after I had stayed the previous two nights at the Reves d'Orient. What a pleasure it turned out to be.. My room was spacious, comfortable, and quiet, although I spent much of my time here on the lovely rooftop terrace, which is well appointed and has great views of the Koutoubia Mosque and the surrounding neighborhood. What really sets this place apart, though, is the service. Samira and her team truly make you feel at home and go to great lengths to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. In addition, the location is superb --in Moussaine, just minutes from Djemaa el Fna-- and the food is outstanding. The breakfast here and the chicken tajine dinner were among the best meals I had in Marrakech. Highly recommended.

I actually had the opportunity to be in two of Samira's riads.Samira will always receive you with a gorgeous smile! I have to say I am very pleased that I shared this very happy time of my life with Samira, her brothers and sisters, Khadija and, of course, Fatima. If you are looking for cosiness and an intimate place, but still want to be at a 3-minutes-walk from Djamaa el Fna and very near from some of the best souks (markets) in town, Riad ZEHAR should be your choice. Do not even think about missing the gourgeous breakfast and its eggs with cumin, made by sweetest Fatima. If you are looking for luxury and a movie scenery, go to Reves d'Orient, the other riad of the family, in the same alley, where you may try a rich moutton tajine... you might be lucky to see the gorgeous Samira herself doing some bellydancing.
