After meticulous and lengthy research, my husband and I chose Riad L'Aziza for our three day stay in Marrakech. The riad came recommended by another contact in Morocco, and after seeing the pictures on the website, we immediately fell in love.
This is a true riad, with a spacious courtyard in the middle. The orange trees, beautiful water fountain, gorgeous woodwork and tiles, all contributed to the special ambiance. Our room was very spacious, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed. The breakfast each morning was delicious and carefully prepared. The housekeeper was very friendly and efficient. The location was great--easy 10 minute walk to the main square, right in the bustle of souqs and other action. The area also felt very safe.
The only downside for us was that no one at the riad spoke English, and we could not understand French; consequently, even a simple request, like ordering a cab to take us back to the airport was a bit problematic. I realize that this is our own fault and we should have brushed up on our French, but just a heads up for those who may be in the same situation. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this riad to anyone.
