we checked in to Riad Tammou which was about 25 mins outside of Marrakesh, I booked it through the Splendia website (which by the way has some amazing properties/accommodation to rent on it!). On the website it looked amazing, all lit up with big white canopy’s stretched out in the garden on either side of the pool, but in reality it didn’t have these canopies nor was the garden all lit up of an evening which was a shame. We struggled to communicate to the housekeeper as he could only speak French and our knowledge of French is very little which has infact prompted me to try and learn some. The place seems like a little run down in parts, just things like light bulbs need replacing a fitting on the sink needs fixing, there are cracks all over the pool area. Saying this if you want a complete get away to a place where there are no distractions and plenty of time to unwind this could just be the place for you, plus the cost of a nights stay is very reasonable. On the up side the staff are very attentive and will go out of their way to accommodate you, the rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable and sheets are nice and crisp.

great place for a break , just outside the city, about 15 mins. by car from the riad, and with the swimming pool available it's a haven from the Medina, excellent staff and service and the food was out of this world, big thanks to Asjin,Ibrahim and Mohamed, truly a wonderful place... thank you for a great time

When we first arrived at the Riad, I have to admit I was nothing short of gutted. Whilst it was pretty, albeit a bit shabby, it looked nothing like the glamorous pictures on the websites! We were starving, having been travelling all day and were looking forward to a meal, however there was no restuarant or dining area...and we were in the middle of nowhere! However the staff were so lovely, they brought out some food for us but the lack of menu or services in this regard was disappointing. We were a little disorientated and due to us being the only ones in the riad a little lost...and with very little information.

However the next day, in the sunshine, things were a lot better. The staff waited on us hand and foot, and plyed us with drinks and snacks by the pool. The hospitality was impeccable. The riad itself felt a little 'unloved' as none of the berber tents, outdoor beds were there as are in the photos. There were also none of the candles and decorative pieces and it generally could do with a lick of paint and certainly new sunbeds etc! We wondered if it's let itself go recently as it felt like shabby chic, which is fine, but not really at the price we were paying.

All in all, just be aware you are a good 20 minute taxi ride from town, you cant order anything there but they will treat you like royalty and is great escapism! Just make sure you're not paying an obscene amount as this riad needs some love!

I booked the riad on a whim, we wanted a chilled trip away from the madness f the medina.
What a fantastic place, excellent staff, achmed the owner was a real treat, excellent knowledge of where to go. He made the holiday one of the best I have ever had. A big thankyou to the team. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed stay in an amazing environment,
