We had a very positive impression about Marrakech. Dar Charkia played an important role on it. Lisa and Mike (Riad owners) were very friendly and gave us a lot of useful tips about the city. Regarding the Riad itself we love it, friendly personal, delicious breakfast in a very well decorated atmosphere. Great place to stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Dar Charkia for 3 nights in January 2012. The riad is easy to find, and in an excellent location - an ideal base from which to explore the Medina. The staff were helpful, and provided a very useful map and briefing on arrival. The decor inside the riad is stunning, everything has been chosen with care and the rooms are fantastic. Breakfast on the roof was another highlight! An excellent place, we would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a peaceful retreat, and especially if you're in need of guidance about how best to enjoy Marrakesh.

We had a great break at Dar Charkia in Jan 2012 and were so glad that we picked this riad. Although Lisa and Michael were unable to be there when we arrived, they had taken the time to leave a map covered with hints of where to visit, eat and shop. We followed their advice over the next few days and how right they were with their suggestions. When we did meet them, they were so helpful, we felt they genuinely wanted us to have a great time.

The riad is just beautiful. Peaceful and charming with lots of places to sit and relax, we certainly felt at home there. We breakfasted every day in the sun on the roof terrace and breakfast nearly lasted us all day!

All the staff we met were very helpful and we felt nothing was too much to ask. We would thoroughly recommend staying here!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Dar Charkia for 4 nights at the end of January 2012. It is a beautiful riad with delightful owners and staff. I felt in safe hands staying here. The owners, Lisa and Michael, went above and beyond to make you welcomed and relaxed!!! They spent over an hour with us recommending what to do, where to eat, how much to pay for taxis, etc. All their recommendations were spot on!!! They were always available to answer any questions. Breakfast was delicious and is served at any time! The staff were so friendly and very helpful. The rooms were stunning - asked Lisa where I could buy some of the furnishings!!! As Marrakech is a little cold this time of year, the heating and lovely log fires in the room was perfect! Can't thank Lisa and Michael enough for such a relaxing stay!
