“Magnificent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We stayed in November 2011 for 3 days at the Riad O2, one night we stayed at the 1001 suite and two other nights at the Oef suite, both suites were really beautiful we enjoyed it. The service was magnificent the Manager of the Riad Moad and his staff where very friendly and willing to help in any needs. We also had dinner one night and the food was excellent, bravo to the chef Rashida, the breakfast was also very delicious. The Riad O2 was really excellent, if one day we come back to Marrakesh we will definitely stay at the Riad O2.

“Best trip we could ever imagine of”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We stayed 3 nights at the Riad O2 and this was the best which ever could happen to us. First, they were fully booked when we tried to make a reservation which made us absolutely sad. But at the end some people cancelled which we really appreciated :-)
It is such a lovely place. When we arrived the Riad manager took care of us and gave us all the important informations about the city. Rashida the chef de cuisine was just awesome. Every morning she prepaired us the typical moroccan "petit dejeuner" at the roof of the beautiful Riad. It was so delicious. We also took advantage of the dinner which she prepared for us. I just can recommand to take part of it because it is really worth!!!
Everybody was so friendly and really helpful.
It is only 10 min away from the Souks and just easy to walk to town.
From the distance you can't see anything about the Riad. It is as you can see as in movies and everything. We opened the door which is located in the wall and we were in another world. So amazing because you do not expect something beautiful and authentic Accomodation.
The next time will come to Marrakech we will definetely stay at the Riad O2 again!!!
It was a really worth stay which we will never forget.

Room Tip: All of the rooms were lovely. I could not decide which one because all of the rooms are really speci...

“Seems the Bed Bugs are a problem for everyone.”

I stayed in the o2 Riad after using trip advisor - there were so many to chose from in the end I picked this one at randomly. I stayed with my boyfriend in the Ouef room for 3 days each day there were blood spots on the sheets - we didnt know what was biting us but when I came home I went to my local walk in GP unit to be told they were classic Bed Bug bites they bite in a line ( as my bites proved) of 3 bites they then move on if they get disturbed. I itched for days afterwards and after a bath the heat seemd to make them itch worse. After reading other peoples reviewas I too feel I have to say something about this room. I would never return its dirty.and we were certainly NOT backpackers - and did NOT take bad bugs with us to this place the spa was not a spa it was a cupboard size laundry room with a smaller hot room behind it. forget white towels and lovely aromas. it was like being in a prison cell. awful place dont waste your money here. There are other beautiful Riads we have stayed in before..

Room Tip: Do not go into the Ouef room - in fact not sure the other rooms are no infested so stay away I woul...

“Bed bugs; they itch for a long time and they do spoil a holiday..”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Riad O2 from 26 to 30 November. We spent our first night in the "Oeuf" room, at one end of which lies a large, "Oeuf"-shaped bath-tub that matches, to a certain extent, an antique touareg double-bed on the other end. Unfortunately, the "Oeuf" was a lot more user-friendly than the bed: we were eaten alive, the first night, by bed bugs. We approached the staff in the Riad in the morning and were told that something like this had never happened before. The likely culprits, they thought, were a couple of hikers who had used that room before us and who had been trekking through the desert before their Marrakesh visit. The staff were both kind and helpful; they put us in another room and bought us some cream for the bites.. Also, on our last evening, the dinner (very good too) was "on the house", to make up for the hardships resulting from the encounters of that first night.. When we returned to Geneva, the managers (who do not live in Morocco but reportedly visit Marrakesh and their Riad at regular intervals) wrote and apologized for "the problem"....

We are really sorry for this unfortunate experience, we have since removed the old antique Touareg wooden bed and thrown it away as all the treatments applied had proven unefficient.
The Oeuf room has now a brand now extra large king size bed (180cm) , with new wood. Thanks god!

“BED BUGS ATE ME AND INFECTED ME - MARRED AN AMAZING STAY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

I travelled to O2 Riad for a friends 50th party - it was amazing - a real 'culture' trip. walking through alley ways to markets - our first night my friend arranged a local group to entertain us while we ate - ( delicious food) this party went on long after we had finished eating. Amazing night. We spent 3 days doing the tourist trap- up the mountains, see some local traditions. amazing time had. UNTIL I went to bed. I woke the next day to see reb blood spots on sheets ( these were fresh sheets before I got in bed) I was a bit itchy and my back seemed to itch the most. Next night same thing happened and woke with more blood on sheets. The third night was worst of all - I felt something bite me so turned light on and there they were - bed bugs-I flicked them off the bed and slept again only to be woken in the morning with more blood on sheets and more bites. Since coming back the past 3 days have been hell- I went to GP last night who confirmed was infected bed bug bites - and has given me steroid tablets and cream, anti biotics, bath oil and cream. (29 so far in medical bills) If I could pay to take this itchy away I would - and I feel like I have the plague the way people look at me. I am a paramedic tutor I cannot go to work looking like this so - I commute and would get stared at and people were moving away from me on the bus yesterday. The room in question was the one with the old wooden frame (quite quirky i thought little did i know hidden inside perilous bugs) I have added pics to show how bad it is. Apologise if anyone is squeamish.
Avoid the room with the large oval bath and old wooden bed frame this is where they live!! – I actually woek one night when felt one biting me and found 3 on the bed under me. awful
Mel

Overall we had a fab time. the staff we so helpful its saddens me to have to leave this report as we all had such an amazing time.
Sadly I will now only be going to 4*+ hotels and I know I will miss out on some future trips with my friends as I do not want to go through this hell again.

Kind regards Mel Jay

Room Tip: Please do not stay here if you are hyper sensitive to insect bites - you will regret it like I am. I...

Hugues and I really feel sorry for Mel, who only let us know about the bugs problem 8 days after she went back home. We immediately took the bed out of the room to be treated. Only then we put the bed back in the room, and since then other guests have stayed in that room and were absolutely fine.
Mel didn't mention that we offered to refund her medical expenses.
Guests can stay in the Oeuf room, try the traditional wooden Touareg bed and the large egg-shaped bath. This room is actually our favorite one.
