“Delightful.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I stayed here mid-January, after the hordes of tourists had dissipated somewhat, rather a pleasant change from New Year. The riad has a simple authenticity to it, well finished and a very relaxing place to stay.
Didier and his staff were welcoming, helpful, the room is interesting and quiet (good combination) and breakfast on the terrace is simple and well done.

i'd recommend it, and would like to stay again.

This place isn't that hard to find - simply ask for the Bab Doukkala Mosque, and just to the north of it, find the orange trees in the small square, and its off a derb to the east.

Room Tip: Mine was on the first floor, overlooking the pool on one side the with the large courtyard on the ot...

“A haven - excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

My partner and I had the most enjoyable 5 night trip to Marrakech thanks to the beautiful environment and the ever helpful Sebastien and his staff. The rooftop courtyard is a delight and the pool is cooling.

We had a number of dinners on the rooftop and found them to be as good as outside restaurant such as Terrace D'espice (a fine establishment recommended by Sebastien).

Rooms are comfortable and suitably equiped.

A travel bungle was smoothed over my our attentive host when he called in a favour after we screwed up our flights. Would I stay at Dar Vedra again? Absolutely.

Note to those travelling to Marrakech - if they say a venue closed - do not believe these kind people as they may well be trying to take you somewhere you do not want to go to and they may well be wrong. We were only feet from a resaurant that we knew was open only to be told it was closed.

Sebastien can also arrange a walking tour which is excellent in guiding you around to getting your bearings if done early in your stay.

“Well priced Riad with excellent service!”

My husband and I stayed in room #1 for 3 nights in December, and could not have been happier. This riad is a tranquil haven, tucked away from the bustling streets of the madina. The owners Sebastien and Didier, were fantastic hosts. For those wanting to experience true Moroccan cuisine, we would highly recommend eating at Dar Vedra. The tagines they prepared for us, were by far the best we had during our trip. This riad is close to a mosque, so calls to prayer did wake us dawn. But that said - it's a wonderful sound and definitely part of the Moroccan experience!

“Excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We stayed here for 5 nights in October.

Sebastian couldn't do enough to help us both before we arrived and during our stay.
The riad has been well converted, with our room (no 2) being spacious and relaxing.
The roof terrace, where you eat breakfast and can chill out on at other times, is a very welcome, relaxing area. We used to return to the riad some afternoons, relax in the sun and share a bottle of wine and partake of the complimentary nibbles.

We ate here the night we arrived and the food and service were excellent. Breakfast was good, although I would have personally liked fresh or dried fruit every day with our yoghurts.
Also we tried coffee and mint tea at other times and service was always prompt, with pastries and a smile.

Sebastian even went out with my hubby on a couple of occasions into the souk to show him the best places to buy certain items, i.e. tagines and he always had good restaurant recommendations for areas we were going to.
One morning we had to be out by 5am and there was coffee and a light breakfast set up for us!

Very relaxing place to base yourself, not quite in the heart of all the action but we enjoyed our walks through the souks to the square and surrounding areas. We always felt safe and would not hesitate to recommend Dar Vedra.

“Beautiful hotel with the best roof terrace in Marrakech!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

I arrived at Dar Vedra after a few days in the desert and it was great to be surrounded by some creature comforts, like bright lights in the bathrooms, a reasonably priced laundry service and a big, luxurious shower. The roof terrace has spectacular views and is really well designed - the perfect place to watch the sun set and view the High Atlas mountains in the background. Didier was very helpful and gave me a great overview and introduction to Marrakech, including a map of the city. He showed me how to make my way back to the hotel which was also very useful. The rooms were a bit small, but beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The mosque is quite close and does wake you up in the morning but this did not bother me at all - it added to the exoticism of the experience! I think this hotel was the best value for money place I stayed in during my two weeks in Morocco. I stayed here 4 nights.
