“Lovely little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

I left writing this review for too long; have loads of reviews to write; a lot to catch up with..
The dating system on TripAdvisor does not go as far back as my trip (February 2009), but still, I want to say that we loved this little place and found the staff to be quite helpful..
As we travelled in February, the water in the pool was too cold to take a dip, but we did enjoy lounging around it at night, with a cold beer and the requisite olives!
Our room was lovely and the sun terrace was nice - even though we did not really use it..
We had dinner there on our last night, but it was not anything extraordinary, and, yes, a bit on the pricey side..
The only thing we did not like was that they kept us waiting a bit longer than usual to get into our room in the first place, but it was no biggie...
Also, the owner (or manager), whom we thought was French, was not overly friendly to us.. However, he was quite chatty to other guests - probably because we speak no French.. But, then again, maybe it was just our impression..
I would definitelt recommend this hotel..
A taxi from the bus station had NO problem finding this riad - even though I was a bit nervous with his driving..
Of course there is dirt and loads of people around (outside the riad) - it's Marrakesh, not downtown Paris!
What I mean by that is that it is a totally different world, but quite charming, we thought..

“Riad Yasmine is a Must in Marrakech”

Riad Yasmine is a paradise in an otherwise hectic city. The staff is incredibly friendly and will assist you with everything you need to get around. We instantly fell in love with Halfa, who seems to run the show. Her kindness is just the beginning of what you can expect of the rest of the staff. The rooms are comfortable and elegantly decorated with that Moroccan charm. The food their chef prepares is authentic and absolutely delicious. I am a foodie so I know good food and the meals we had at Riad Yasmine were REALLY GOOD!!! I asked for the recipe for a dish and the staff happily gave me step by step instructions. This is something that never happens as most cooks never want their recipes to leave their kitchens. Riad Yasmine is also one of the few places a tourist can find a cocktail on a Friday. This is going to be important to any non-Muslim travelers who are use to a little wine with dinner. We loved our stay here so much that, when we returned to the city, we came right back to the Riad Yasmine. By far our greatest accommodations out of the 6 cities we traveled to in Morocco. Traveler's Tip: Always ask the staff what cabs should cost as there are no meters in the cabs in this town.

“Oasis in the centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

We stayed at Riad Yasmine for three nights in a suite in October. Certaintly an oasis in Marrakech. Staff were very friendly and did all they could to help us and made our stay very comfortable. In house dinner slightly expensive compared to restaurants but worth it.

“Very enjoyable stay at Riad Yasmine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010

4 of us had a very enjoyable stay at the Riad in early September. 2010 We shared two rooms, availed ourselves of the plunging pool and roof top terrace as well as the friendly and courteous staff. The Riad has a nice and intimate atmosphere and is well layed out and decorated.

Food/Beverages: Good breakfasts, in-house dinners were excellent (order the fish) and tasty tagine and couscous. A well stocked bar at reasonable prices with continuous service.

Accommodations: Our rooms were lovely, very clean, comfortable, authentic décor. Very impressive.

Staff: phenomenal. They really catered to us hand and foot. At one point we asked if they had any chips, they did not, but went out of the Riad to buy them for us, top notch!

Very personable owner who provided good advice on how to navigate and understand the city and stay out of trouble, thanks Hervé and to your staff!

“WONDERFUL RIAD!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2010

My wife and I just returned from a fantastic two week stay at Riad Jasmine. From the moment we first stepped inside the front door we felt as if we had arrived in heaven! After 3 flights and 31 hours we were ready to relax. We were welcomed and served a beautiful chicken tajine and vegetables with wine and relaxing music in the background. The staff made you feel like you were family from the time we met them! Riad Yasmine is 1st class, the rooms were beautiful & clean, the meals fantastic, the whole atmosphere and architecture awed you each and every day. The staff alone speaks volumes for how they look after every detail and help you with any inquires or advice. Co-owner Heire should be proud of them! We would like to personally say thank you to Hafida, Chaouqi, Hassan, Samir, Adil, Nadi and Fatima, all of you were amazing!
Everyone who posted remarks noted that you would get lost going through the souks. Rest assured you will. But after a couple of times you will do it with no problem. At night in the dark as long as you remember some landmarks or signs on the route back from place Jamaa El Fna square you will do fine. The young men trying to steer you in whatever direction should be avoided. All in all they were not too much of a problem, just another part of the experience. The souks will have your senses on overdrive with all the sights, sounds and smells. The Place Jamaa El Fna changes with the time of day from snake charmers to wrestling matches, acrobats to the setting up of the outside cafes at nights. We also visited the new city called the Gueliz. It is a relief from the crowded souks and narrow alleys. It is very modern with some lovely restaurants and you can easily get there by foot, taxi (30dh) or horse drawn carriage (100dh). We also took a grand taxi to the Qurika Valley in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, among the highest in Africa. Another side trip was to Lalla Takerkous were we rented a 4 wheeler quad for a trip in the highlands and desert. We came back and had lunch at the “Le Relais du Lac” which was right on the shore of the reservoir lake with the snow capped Atlas Mountains as the backdrop. The meal and the view and ambience were out of this world. If you need to have a cold beer near place El Fna go the The Grand Hotel Tazi, cool atmosphere and nice waiters. Just south, on the same side is a neat cafe called the Marra Book Cafe, good food and very cool and hidden. Also be sure to visit the La Mamounia Hotel & Casino right near the gorgeous Koutoubia Mosque. In times gone by this is where Winston Churchill used to stay. He called Marrakech the Paris of Africa. After returning home we both feel as if we left part of our heats in Morocco, the country and it’s people are outstanding.
