This Riad is truly wonderful. The rooms are clean and well decorated. We stayed at the amber suite and it was lovely. All the rooms are stunning and we popped in each one and took photos.
Breakfast was great, every morning fresh bread, butter, jam, egg, fresh juice, mint tea, pancakes and yogurt…my husband loved it and I had to drag him away from the table.
You may get lost the first day BUT that is part of the adventure. (mostapha does draw you a map when you arrive and explains things ) BUT you must get lost once to truly explore the area.
The riad is so peaceful (at times you will need that) walking distance to all attractions and just a 5 min taxi ride if you don’t fancy walking.
Mostapha speaks French and Arabic and also English (not as good as the French). We had no problem talking to him and having conversations with him. A little English and some French and a bit of Arabic we talked great with him and my French and Arabic has improved so much.
What makes this Riad better than the rest is that MOSTPAH and KADIEJEH (latefah has got married and not working any more) are friendly.. Great…wonderful and amazing and always ready with a smile.
From the time we got out of the taxi mostapha was ready to help in anyway. (Giving directions, advice about shopping and attractions, getting taxi and a guide). The thing about this riad , is that you feel part of the family. We loved every second of it.
You must eat at the riad. Kadiejeh is a great cook and mostapha sets a lovely table on the roof balcony.
We had 3 dinners, each one finger liking good.
I also sat in the kitchen while kadiejeh was cooking and learned to cook one dish
If you are looking for the true feeling of a Moroccan home, then this riad is for you. It has comfort, elegance, clam and a friendly atmosphere about it.
Oh yeh as you walk out the riad you will see kids playing in the street , they are all very friendly and polite, always saying hello and how are you?......i gave some kids a couple of sweets and they where my best friends for the week, specially mohammed ayoub , 11 years old (small built for his age) . he would walk with us to the street , stop a taxi and tell the driver where we wanted to go , he also made sure we did not pay too much. He never asked for money, he just was a sweet boy with a cheeky face.
Mostapha, kadiejeh thank you so much for a great time…we will be back.
Mostapha say hi to ayoub from us.
