My wife and I travelled with Thompson`s to the DeCameron for Christmas and the New Year, I am afraid to say that I would not repeat the experience. This is a French speaking hotel, if you dont speak French then you are completly on you own. While being reasonabley polite and friendly, the staff are just not geared up for English speakers. All the menu`s are in French which was a bit of a bind, however the food was very very good, always hot and tasty, it was completly buffet style however this was no problem, there was no rush, and plenty of it. They had a team of young girls and boys who were the entertainment team throughout the day and ofcourse they only spoke Frence, therefore you had no idea what was going on during the day as they were constantly talking over a mike, which made it very noisey, I did find that after a few days most of them did not bother with us when they realised we could not understand them, but they were not rude they always said good morning. There was always entertainment on in a seperate venue every night but as everything was in Frence after the first night it was not worth attending. The place and gardens were kept very clean at all times, the rooms however very old were reasonable but in no way could be deemed 4 star, maybe 2 star at a push. The TV had an english film channel which was a bonus as this was all you had to do other than sit in a noisy bar that closed at 23:00 hours. You were very limited as to alcohol, I happen to dring Dark Rum and my wife drinks Brandy, they did not have either. The Thompson rep was well below standard and appeared completly out of her depth, she could not speak anything other than English, which left her at a disadvantage especially when we went out on trips, we took two, one to Marrakesh which was nothing more than a rip off and the second was acceptable. so, all in all I would strongly suggest that you give this hotel a miss until they get there act together if they want to cater for the English speaking public.
