“Cool place to relax with winter sunshine”

Just had 7nights at Riad Meriem I think it is Exactly what all the reviews we read say it is, positives are wonderfully helpful staff, will do anything to please, a real Marrakesh Riad experience with a warm friendly feel. If we had to find negatives then a little cold having dinner in the dinning room, and very Smokey on an evening when the fire has been lit.
But overall we had a wonderful time and maybe someday we will return.

Room Tip: I am sure all rooms are of a high standard but the Ivory room does have a window which was nice. the...

“Boutique Riad near the Souks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

This Riad has only 5 rooms which makes it very intimate. Within days you share your stories with other guests while having breakfast. As soon as the door opens in the alleyway, you really feel away from everything. It is quiet, relaxed and it looks beautiful. We booked the Aubergine room but were upgraded to the Star room. I think the latter is slightly bigger but I guess all rooms have their own ambiance. The interior of the room is not so much traditional but more comtemporary. Because it was freezing in the night we asked for an extra blanket and they later brought in a separate heater. Brilliant. The roof terrace is very nice and well decorated but the rattling dryer in the corner going on for hours every day was less amusing. One thing to bear in mind; the Riad lies directly east of the Souks which means that going to the Big Square is either via the Souks or via a busy through road (well, all roads are busy in Marrakech). The Riad lies at the end of a so-called Derb; you can't go any further. In the morning we had very good advice from the manager Cyrus what to do and where to go. During the day Hassan and his team took care of the rooms and the food. We had an excellent lunch they just whipped up on our arrival; very nice and delicious!

“Fond memories of Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

In December, I had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at Riad Meriem. It was an excellent experience-a first class riad with beautiful finishes, charming ambiance, intimate and outstanding service. The website is beautiful and caught my attention. I often wonder if the website photos are updated and true to the riad but I must say what you see on their website is exactly what you get. When we were shopping for riads-which can be overwhelming as there are so many choices-Madeline was extremely responsive to all my email questions and inquiries and this was one of the reasons we booked Riad Meriem and did it directly through the riad.
We reserved both the Star room and the Red Room-both are beautiful and comfortable with luxurious bathrooms with plenty of hot water. It is quiet and I had my best nights sleep of my entire vacation in Morocco at Riad Meriem. These rooms are on the second floor and I'd say the best rooms in the riad. They have personality and are warm and welcoming. We absolutely loved our rooms. There are no locks on the doors other than a closing latch when you are inside the room or when you leave but you feel so safe there that there is no concern ab0ut no locks on the doors There are nice safes in each room.
The twinkling Moroccan lanterns in the courtyard were magical and the roaring fireplace in the Chimney room each night was perfect for unwinding after a day in the souks. There are fresh roses in the courtyard of the riad and small vases with red roses in the rooms. We had dinner our first night in the riad and it was delicious, bountiful and beautifully presented with tantalizing Moroccan flavors. We enjoyed it so much that we had dinner our last night in the riad and it was just as savory as the first night. At least one dinner in the riad is high recommended. Breakfast is served on the rooftop patio-fresh squeezed orange juice, hot coffee, a different fruit presentation daily, warm Moroccan bakeries and delightful hot egg item varied each morning. Food was great!
Cyrus-the manager-called to personally welcome us upon our evening arrival and arranged to meet with us the following morning to give us some Marrakech pointers. Each morning he would meet with us to answer any questions we may have and make suggestions and recommendations for shopping and restaurants which was greatly welcomed. The onsite staff of Abdul and Hassan were excellent. Unobtrusive yet always readily available for absolutely any of our needs. When I brought back a moroccan mirror I had purchased that was not wrapped very well for travel, Hassan wrapped it in bubble wrap and packaged it for me so I could travel with it. We wanted to go to the main square, Djana de Fna, for dinner one evening but I shared our concern about where to eat in the square as not to get sick as well as not to get lost on the way back to the riad and Hassan offered to go with us to ensure we got there safely and back and selected one of the vendors for us and ordered a variety of foods for us. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
I would highly recommend Riad Meriem as your own little oasis of calm after visiting the souks or touring Marrakech. The riad is breathtaking and the service over the top! It will make your stay in Marrakech a memorable one. I work in the travel/hospitality business and can appreciate wonderful accomodations and gracious outstanding service. Riad Meriem offers both. Stay as their guest and leave as friends.

“Peace and tranquility amongst the chaos of Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011 via mobile

We have just got back from Riad Meriem and it was the best place we have ever stayed at. Cyrus the owner provided invaluable advise and helped us choose places to eat and visit, arranging reservations and transport. I must say the food at the Riad was superb. His team were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Well worth a stay
