“Three wonderful nights ..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

First the downside .. if you don't fancy walking down dark-ish alleys to get to your accommodation then this hotel may not be for you. A taxi will drop you 5-10 minutes' walk away and a walk through the medina may easily get you lost on your way back (ignore all requests for guidance until you are completely lost! Most of the 'guides' seem to intend to get you lost and then miraculously find your accommodation! Cynical? Moi?). But if you don't mind that, then you're in for a treat. Wonderfully comfortable rooms, beautifully quiet (once inside!) and really friendly English and French speaking staff. Ten minutes walk and you're into the souks. Ten more and you're back in a little oasis of peace and calm. I especially loved the rooftop terrace but there are other little nooks and crannies to relax in. The atmosphere is very peaceful; there is even a TV and internet access should you choose to share your experiences on Facebook and Twitter immediately on your return from the souks! I loved this hotel!

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

A beautiful and clean riad, with lovely staff (every single one of them!). Our room (in riad 2) was really beautiful, and the bathroom is fantastic with a massive moroccan bathtub. All of the staff was very friendly and eager to help us with things to do around Marrakech. They all spoke English as well as French and Arabic. The terrace is very pleasant (with a small plunge pool) and they have turtles hanging around! The welcome was great, they serve you some orange juice and cake and let you take your time to fill the papers at the check-in (rather than sitting with you and being pushy like we experienced elsewhere). The person who picked us up from the airport was also very chatty, very friendly and pleasant.

In terms of location it's very well placed in the medina because it's a bit removed from other riads but only about fifteen minutes away (in practically a straight line) to Jemma el-Fnaa. In the opposite direction it has a pharmacy quite closely by, and it's very close to the actual street so it's easy to get a taxi nearby (rather than having to walk half the medina with your bags).

We will definitely come back to this riad when we visit Marrakech again!

“Cosy Riad in a quiet neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This is a small riad in the medina, with few rooms and friendly personnel. It doesn't have a lot of facilities, just the the reception, the rooms, a small kitchen, and a central common space with a small tree.

We had the first room on the left, opposite the kitchen. It hadn`t windows to the street, only to the inner common space. The room and its bathroom were clean, with hot water. We had internet access from the room. The breakfast was fresh and served on time; we didn't dine there. In the night everything was quiet, we slept and rest without disturb.

It is five minutes away from a major street, and twenty minutes north of Djemaa el-Fna. We didn't spend a lot of time in the riad, though, we walked the whole day around the medina.

“The best place we stayed on our entire trip”

Fantastic hotel, fantastic staff and the best breakfast we have ever had.
After travelling for 22 hours to get to Morocco, this was exactly what we needed. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the place is just beautiful.
The room was spotless. It was so nice to have somewhere as peaceful as this to retreat to after the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
Omar, Aimed and Rasheed could not do enough for us and always welcomed us with big smiles.
The breakfast was out of this world and HUGE.

“Fantastic stay, warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2011

We stayed at the Riad Dar Soukeina during the Easter French school holidays for one night and were delighted by the warm welcome of the staff and the beautiful rooms. Tucked away on a quiet side street about 10 - 15 minutes walk from Jamaa El Fna, the Riad enchanted our teen age girls with its tiled patio, great furniture, nice terrace, colorful rooms and helpful staff. Prices are reasonable relative to other Riads in the area (some totally overpriced). We arrived there by car and were able to leave it in a supervised parking lot 3 minute walk away from the Riad for 30 dirrhams for 24 hours (about € 3). To get to the centre of the Medina and the key monuments, you walk through the souks, which are a must-see.

Room Tip: Room with mucharrabieh overlooking the couryard
