A marvellous place to relax or have a fabulous wedding ! Plenty of grounds to enjoy away from the bustle of life. and this includes no tv, no radios and no phones in the room (although there is wifi). The hosts are so totally welcoming. Enjoy !

I don't know where the bad reviews are coming from, but obviously people had no idea what they had signed up for.
We stayed 6 days at Jnane Tamsna and found it wonderful.
This getaway is a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert like Palmeraie, with it's lush gardens and perfect silence it's like staying in the garden of Eden. We were there for our honeymoon and found an amazingly decorated (perfectly clean) room, along with the authentic and tasteful decoration of the rest of the place. Our laundry was done every day, we received welcome cookies and tea wherever and whenever we looked thirsty. There was a cosy library where one could easily spend hours. We had a nice lounge area by our pool and the service was extremely friendly and made us feel at home, because they were not tip toeing around us all the time but were there when needed and were always very helpful and welcoming. Meryanne and her husband are very friendly and interesting people who gave us the feeling of being friends staying at their private house.
The food was okay, though we aren't friends of Moroccan cuisine and haven't really enjoyed eating anywhere in Morocco, wherever we tried it. But it was always served in a very elegant, calm and relaxing atmosphere.
This is the place if you like tasteful and natural getaways with a subtle and homey atmosphere without the classy "hotel" feeling.
Certainly, the price is up for discussion as we also feel it's slightly overpriced, but that's about the only critique and we still think it was worth every cent.
Hostess meryann and staff were wonderful at the beautiful, peaceful
dar/resort. We spent two delightful days at the end of a 6 day first visit to morocco in mid June(2011) the
grounds, accomodations, service, breakfast were superb. Merryann welcomed us,the staff answered our every request. We swam in the two beautiful pools, walked the gardens , loved the large sumptious breakfast.it is important to have english speaking hotel staff and meryann's managers were multiple linguel.the medina/square was only 15 minutes away or $10 by petit taxi. We had a rental car and had to learn how to find jnane tamsna at night(only problem)
we read about the resort/estate in ny times 2010 article on best spots to stay in marrakech
Jill and I are experienced world travelers and we highly recommend it. You could stay just At jnane or combine your stay with a stay in medina. Enjoy and say hi to merryann for us
Where to start with Jnane Tamsna - the food, the bedrooms, the gardens, are all extraordinary. I stayed for 6 days with my wife and young daughter and we fell in love with it!
The hotel has a main house and a number of villas each with it's own pool set in extensive natural gardens. The place feels very relaxed - all the comforts of a five star hotel but without the formality, the staff were fantastic and really couldn't do enough to help us, everyone from the gardners to the chef were so friendly.
The food is the best i've tasted in marrakech. We went out to several highly regarded (and expensive) restaurants and they just didn't compare, much of the ingredients is grown on-site at the hotel, it's not complicated food but it's done brilliantly.
The grounds are like a massive secret garden, lots of little paths to follow if you fancy a wander and the smell of lavender and rosemary is always in the air. The rooms are beautiful, and the whole place feels very homely, we saw a few of the bedrooms and each one is unique, with wonderful attention to detail.
We'll definitely be returning...
Highly recommend staying here if you want luxurious, private and relaxing. Each villa is set in amazing gardens and all are very private with their own pool. All the staff went out their way to help us in any way they could and really made this feel homely and relaxing (This included bring us dinner to our own terrace each night so we could eat whilst our daughter was asleep).
The food was absolutely amazing - the best I have ever had in Morocco. All extremely fresh with most of it coming from the gardens of the hotel. The chef also specifically catered for my 18 month old daughter and cooked her fantastic healthy dishes each day and I never felt worried about her becoming ill from the food or water.
I would also highly recommend the cookery class even if you are not staying in the hotel. The chef speaks amazing English and the class is done in a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
