“Beautiful stay!”

We stayed at this perfect hotel several years ago in May for 5 nights. The chambers are great, food is brilliant. Breakfast is very nice and is served whereever you want (as all other meals). Pool was cold so I haven't tried it, but sunbathing on the roof was fantastic after a busy day in Marrakech. Villa staff always ready to help you with anything!
We took master suite for 3 people. It was too much! like a big house! Baths - wonderful, marocco style.
So enjoy your stay at this magnificant place!

We had an amazing time . The Riad is 5 srar from start to finish . Joelle and her staff are friendly , helpful and very attentive. The Riad is spotlessly clean , the attention to detail is second to none. Joelle adds so many extra touches . The breakfast is amazing a real treat to start the day. We would recommend having dinner in the riad. Our riad was an oasis in mad Marrakesh somewhere wonderful to come back too. We will definately return. Amazing place to stay.

“SUPERB!”

This Villa was above and beyond our expectations!!! The staff, rooms and cuisine were what you can expect from a Relais and Chateaux. In addition to having truly elegant surroundings, and having a choice as to where you take your meals, having breakfast, lunch, non-alcholic beverages AND your laundry included in the price is well worth it. My husband and I travel a great deal for both work and pleasure. This by far is THE place to stay in Marrakech! We took a three day trekking trip to the Atlas Mountains and came back to the Villa to find yet again, another upgrade and a greeting like we were family. I would suggest dinner at the Villa as well as exploring the Guerliz. We are rather intrepid travelers BUT did hire a guide (through the villa) for our first day of exploring the Medina and found that to be very helpful. We will most definitely return!!! Bravo to ALL!

“All hotels should be run like this”

We disagree with both Chris and Nisekolad latest reveiws. This is a place of tranquility, just walk in from the madness of the Medina,(walking distance) and serenity seeps into to your body. The staff are so helpful, pleasant but unobtrusive, and this is all due to Pascal and Veronique's high standards. Everyone is a credit and we thank them for making our stay in Marrakech so delightful. The hotel is filled with high class artifacts and it is a pleasure sitting and reading in any one of the recesses or by one of the three pools. The food was of high standard and presented beautifully, but we felt the evening meals were a little overpriced. We did enjoy our stay though.

“Villa of Disappointment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We stayed here a few years ago during renovation work (which we were not told about) the disturbance was completely unacceptable and we left feeling cheated and rather angry.

We visit Marrakech regularly up to 4 or 5 times per year and having read the recent reviews we thought we would give this hotel another chance.
We are also 5C Relais & Chateaux members!

We had booked a large suite with roof terrace for one week at the beginning of November, the room was dark, dismal and furnished with rather heavy unattractive furniture. The bathroom had a very unpleasant 'drain' smell during the whole period of our stay and the shower flooded everytime it was used. The roof terrace was monochrome in colour and somewhat bland, with little inspiration with regards to the raised flower beds, the shrubs were either dead, unwell or just badly maintained, the only living shrubbery were three rather sad looking olive trees.

We were unable to enjoy the use of our roof terrace for breakfast because of swarms of bees/wasps. We also found it somewhat irritating having to continually ask for towels for the sunbeds and on two occassions the sunbeds were left out during the night and so they were wet/damp the following morning!

The fire in our room was lit during the evening, but unfortunately the staff failed to provide a sufficient 'fire guard' and so the fire spewed out hot embers onto a rug placed by the fire, which could have had very serious consequences, however, we managed to remove the embers on to the stone floor!

One of the waiters dropped a tray of glass on the floor of our room and for two days we were still finding shards of glass everywhere!

Little or no management exposure led to us having to complain to other staff, but on a positive note Mohamed, the Restaurant Manager and his team were extremely professional and the food was good.

This hotel is not good value for money and once again we left feeling extremely cheated, '5C' members should be offered an upgrade on availability at arrival and although we were told that the hotel only had 40% occupancy and the upgrade was available, we were not offered the upgrade (we are writing to Relais & Chateaux under separate cover)

Room Tip: The room grading is extremely confusing
