“Great for a week”

We booked a week here after seeing it advertised in the travel agent's window at a reduced price and quite enjoyed our stay at the Tikida Garden. The gardens of this hotel are indeed a pleasure to see and very well maintained by an army of workers. All the staff are friendly and always willing to please. The animation team work very hard and encourage people to mix and take part in various activities. OK, the evening entertainment isn't of West End standards but it is a good way of passing an hour after the evening meal. On the subject of food - it is very good although perhaps a little repetitious. The drinks are fine and plentiful, with our wine glass being topped up without asking at dinner. If you like to take an after dinner drink in the hotel bar and are a reformed or anti smoker - beware. Smoking is still allowed (and encouraged) in public areas.

The hotel is a quite a way from the centre but there is a hotel shuttle bus that runs at set times through the day. We took the bus in on one occasion but caught a taxi back. Real old banger, wouldn't be allowed on the road here, but cheap as long as you haggle. Didn't really enjoy our visit to the market - but many do so definitely try it.

We did take the opportunity to walk around the area near the hotel a lot of small workshops nearby. if you want to know what things were like before the Health and Safety at Work Act came into being - just take a stroll along the main road.

So: nice hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms, good food and pleasant surroundings but a week was quite long enough.

“fantastic”

on arrival we were greeted with a cocktail, check in ran smooth and staff could'nt do enough for you. we had a fantastic time and all the staff made my 50th birthday very special with champaine and a birthday cake. so much choice on food with breakfast lunch and dinner with 7 to 10 different stations maybe more in both restaurants, so clean something for everyone (unless you want battered fish and chips if so i surgest you stay at home ) we was very lucky and had some warm weather but was very cold from around 5.30pm to 9.30 am as soon as the sun came out so the temp went up to a comfortable 70-76. my tip for this trip would be take a travel kettle as there isnt one in the room, cups, milk, teabags and sugar, you can get from the restaurant, good trips to go on were half days History of marrakech, and the ouchra valley unless you are into botany dont bother with eyves saint laurant gardens all in all we could not fault this hotel or the staff would go back right now given the chance, but looking forward to next year

“Forget Agadir”

This hotel, just a short flight from UK, is just a few minutes drive from the centre of Marrakesh, the rooms are very clean and spacious, and the hotel pool is very child friendly, with its shore like slope. Plenty of sunbeds and great staff. Food a little repetitive at times, but if you use the free shuttle bus to the town centre, there are plenty of places to experience local and European food. with the high prices now to stay in a Riyadh this is a fabulous alternative. This is almost RIU Caribbean class, for those who know they chain!

Marrakesh is so worth visiting, with its old Medina and souks and its very European quarter, which reminds you of the south of France. There is a tour bus where the hotel bus drops you off which you can use to get your bearings, a few pounds for 24 hour hop on and off, suggest you do the full circuit then decide where you want to get off..

Room Tip: all uniform and easy access, although disabled should request ground floor room,

“Lovely hotel with great service, good base for exploration of Marrakech”

We booked a last minute 4 night trip and were very lucky to find ourselves to be staying in such a place. We were greeted well with cocktails and a stunning mosaic centerpiece in the lobby.
Our room had a lovely view of the gardens and the pool and the shower in the room was brilliant. Our bed was massive too!
The food was far better than some of the reviews I had read on here. The head chef was always present and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about his food- wanting to tell you (with broken english) about what each thing was and would serve it to you even though it was a self service buffet. The waiting staff too were always very attentive and friendly - our drinks would never empty! The manager was always present too and talked to many guests about their stay.
The entertainment brought in was brilliant, especially the african drummers who were very talented and included fire breathing and stilt dancing. By our last night the hotel entertainment team's night paled in comparison If they had more to work with I believe it would make it far better but you could see they worked hard to get everyone up and laughing.
We used the first choice excursions on our stay and loved that we packed in as much into our holiday as we could. We would both visit Marrakech and stay at Tikida Gardens again!

Room Tip: Get your booking company to request a pool view room
