“Not a 5 star, a 3 star (IBIS is better)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

This was an official hotel for the event i was attending. On arrival, 3 recepcionist and we waited 10m for them to finish their friendly chat and realise we were there. Very bad service at reception, no information. there was someone taking us the room and all the hotel is dirty and old, but very old.

The room has the bulbs broken, the toilet broken, the shower has no changing tap, the balcony very dirty. nothing in the mini bar.

In the city where the orange jiuce in the street costs 0,3€, the breakfast has no natural orange jiuce, no fresh fuits, the bread is old, only one type of cheese, no yougurts, you ask a tea and a glass small is deliver.

In a hotel dedicated to incentives, the internet costs 25€ per day.

for 190€ per night and a 5 star you would expect more.....

“Pool too cold!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

Over the past 6 or 7 years I have stayed at the Mansour Eddahbi many times....although a nice enough hotel with spacious rooms the reason I returned so often was that the pool was heated.....however Ive been twice this year and thats no longer the case....although 30 degrees weather wise the water in the pool is simply too cold to swim in. Such a shame

“Decent option, especially for a conference”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2009

I stayed a short week in this hotel in late Sept - early Oct 2009, and also stayed there for 3 nights 2 years ago.

This is an enormous hotel - multiple buildings spread out in a park with real pretty swimming pools. Everything was fine for us. The room was large, with comfortable beds, flat-screened TV with a decent basic set of channels (in English, French and Spanish), etc.

I think the previous bad reviews are mostly because the place is expensive and sells itself as a luxury hotel, and some things aren't perfect. For example, in our room, the minifridge leaked abit and had started to rot out the pretty wood cabinet it was in. The shower curtain was getting old and showed abit of mold. And the light system was abit weird - when I turned off the main switch for lights in the bedroom, the toilet lights were also cut off. In addition, the front desk was competent but less warm than service you get in the smaller riad hotels.

All these things are pretty minor and the hotel was fine for a conference, but other hotels are nicer for vacations for the price I guess. It is located a 15-20 minute walk from the center of town - 5 minutes by taxi - and maybe 8 minutes walk to the train station.

“This is not a good luxury hotel choice”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2009

I sincerely regret not having read more reviews before we left but at the last minute, we decided to take a few days out of pur trip to Casablanca and spend some time in Marrakesh. This is a city we've been to many times before and we debated staying at the Royal Mirage (which I would still return to) but then I saw the photos for the Mansour Eddahbi and thought it would be a nice change.

Serious error. It took forever to check in and then, despite a promising and modern lobby, a depressing room that has not been decorated since the 1980s. Tiles missing around the entrance, broken rings on the shower curtain, and we could smell and hear what was going on in the room above us. We asked to change but they told us it was impossible, even though the hotel was not full. Unlike most Moroccan destinations, the service was haphazard and tthe personnel barely sociable, and even small details like the shampoo left in the bathroom was a miss - it was as though someone took a handful of bottles and left them there, never mind that there were three shampoos and one moisturizer (the conditioner and shower gel must have ended up in someone else's room).

Small details but accumulated, far too many to ignore (and I haven't listed them all).

One major strong point - the kid's pools are very accessible and unlike some hotels, were really designed for a variety of ages. We really liked this feature and spent a lot of time at the pool (but don't order poolside service - both expensive and poor quality). Too bad the rest was so poor.
