This is a charming Riad and we stayed for 10 days in late September/October - when we arrived we were made very welcome and for the first few days were the only residents. Our room was on the ground floor, so quite dark, but as it was also quite hot at the time so this was not a problem - if you want something sunnier stay on the first floor. The staff were incredibly nice and made us feel very welcome and stated that we were to treat the Riad as 'our home'. Happy to store our wine etc in the fridge and you could have breakfast at any time. Very relaxing and lovely. The terrace was particularly nice with sunbeads, throws and towels and even a sheltered area where you could play chess/connect etc.,
3 days before we left the 'Partron' arrived who was (apparently) the new owner and the whole atmosphere changed. The owner was quite dismissive and very hard on the staff who did everything and had doneeverything they could to make the stay lovely - we actually felt very sorry for them as the 'patron' barked out orders to them and had them running around doing all sorts of different tasks - including constantly serving him and his son (who was also exceptionally rude!) . I cannot recommend the Riad enough, but please make sure that the surly and rude owner and his son are not there, they will spoil everything! As they are resident in Paris I hope for everyones sake that they stay well away.........
