I can´t say enough about Riad Baboune and how great our stay there was. Philippe and Barbara, the owners, are the nicest, most accommodating people and they have a real gem of a riad on their hands. At €70 per night it´s a fantastic bargain. When we arrived, Philippe met us at the medina gate to personally guide us to the riad, then took us out to show us the way to the Djemaa el Fna and make sure we knew our way back. He also guided us to some shops, made restaurant recommendations, and fought off the neighborhood boys who tried to rip us off when we got lost. Dinner at the riad our last night in Marrakesh was by far our best meal in our two weeks in Morocco. What are you waiting for? Go!!

“A moment of peace in the crazy old town”
We did not plan first to stay at this Riad and we were suggested to stay the last two nights we spent in Marrakech there, so it was somehow more a blind choice to have a place to sleep. I was actually surprised to see how lovely this place was. It was very well designed and Philip and his wife were very friendly. If you stay in Marrakech do not forget to try the homemade food in the Riads believe me it is much better than the crappy food in the restaurants. The breakfast was with Morrocan crepe and very delicious mandarin jam which they offered us some at our departure. The only drawback was its location if you really want to be very close to the big square, in the busy times (evenings) expect a half an hour walking through narrow streets full of kids and motorbikes and .... but at least the neighborhood is not so touristy and you can get the taste of the people's lifestyle.
