“Amaaazingggg!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Fes is one of the most magical places I've ever been to and then staying at the Dar Roumana just makes it all so perfect. The Riad is absolutely gorgeous. When the driver pulls up outside the alley way you will be perplexed to say the least, sweating in your pants wondering where the hell he's taking you, but trust me once you arrive outside the door and step in side your jaw will drop! The staff is amazing, and make you feel welcome and at home. Mohammed is an absolute star, he will guide you, put out some shisha for you on the rooftop, advise you on the best places to go and how much you should pay for anything you need to buy at the medina ( the price pretty much triples when they see a foreigner!)
STAY HERE! you won't regret it. We stayed in The Argana suite and the Tamarind, both were beautiful in their own way!

“Exquisite place with fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

A friend and I stayed in this beautiful Dar for 3 nights. The Dar has been amazingly restored, it was more impressive than some of the museums we visited. The staff are wonderful, we arrived very late the first night and were hungry. They called a local restaurant in the medina and had us escorted over within 10 minutes. Gale, one of the staff members, even picked up items from the supermarket in the new city for us. Can't say enough good things about this place.

“Gorgeous riad in Fes”

A wonderfully restored riad in Fes. Just a bit out of the very heavily trafficked areas, but in a nice quiet souk. Our room was beautiful, large, and clean. The photos online do not do the place justice. Breakfast every morning was delightful. The staff, Gail in particular, helped my friend and I to have an amazing stay in Fes by recommending sights and restuarants. A wonderful place to stay.

“Beautiful riad with wonderful staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We stayed at Dar Roumana through New Year and thoroughly enjoyed both the riad and Fes. It's a beautiful building with a wonderfully decorated central atrium and sensational views over the medina from the very spacious roof garden. Our room was one of the less expensive but was large, comfortable and also with beautiful tiles, plasterwork and carved timber roof. While nights were cold outside, there was a great open fire, and the days were sunny and (almost) warm! And the staff! Gail was our main host - helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, especially about food and eating in the medina, on which she is an expert and guide. Mohamed, the assistant manager, was equally friendly and ready to go out of his way to help. And Vincent's food, especially on New Year's Eve, was very, very classy.
The medina in Fes is big and full of interest, and a day trip to Volubilis, the Roman ruins, and Meknes is a great idea. Put this destination on your list!

“Wonderful Experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We stayed here last November and thought this dar was beautifully restored giving it bags of atmosphere and with excellent views from the Roof Terrace. The rooms are outstanding.

We had a problem with the suite we had booked as the airconditioning/heating did not work and the Manager Gail instantly upgraded us to the best suite the Yasmina with a private balcony. We thought this was outstanding service as we had had problems with a couple of rooms along the way in Morocco and had difficulty getting the Management to change the rooms, nevermind an upgrade.

We had dinner at the Dar and this was superb and to be recommended.

Our only complaint was that we thought the breakfast was disappointing for the price we paid to stay at this Dar compared to other places in Morocco.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor rooms if you want quiet and privacy.
