“Sumptious Riad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

Riad Norma has been beautifiully and lovingly restored resulting in a sumptious location for our stay in Fez. The inner couryard was exquisitely designed, as was the whole of the Riad. The outside pool (most unusual) and garden was an added delight. The food was delicious, though a little salt for our individual taste, and beautifully presented by the ever-attentive staff. Monique, our hostess was gracious and always helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

“Beautiful and Charming Riad in the Medieval Medina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

Riad Norma is a beautifully restored palace. The garden with orange trees and plunge pool is very cozy. The courtyard is decorated with brilliant mosaic tiles. I stayed in a junior suite on the top level. The room was very comfortable and warm. I had dinner by the fireplace in the winter dining room. The traditional Moroccan dinner of Harira soup, roasted vegetables, chicken tajine, and a memorable plum dessert was delicious. The wine selection was also very good. The hostess, Monique, gave a very warm and charming welcome. She's very knowledgeable and was helpful in organizing activities in the city. Her team is also very attentive and friendly. Staying at Riad Norma was definitely a highlight of my time in Fes.

“Don't understand why this is so low down the list”

Riad Norma is an absolute delight and in the likely event that we return to Fes, we will come back here. The staff were lovely, the riad itself was very pretty indeed, the rooms were charming and the food was simply fantastic. We did go for dinner elsewhere in Fes but just ended up wishing we'd eaten at Riad Norma. The only small point is that the location isn't the best because it is about 15 minute walk to get to the heart of the Medina - but it isn't unsafe. We really loved it and would definitely recommend it. As an aside, Fes is completely amazing and so much nicer than Marrakech.

“Beautiful riad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

We stayed at Riad Norma for only one night after moving from another riad that just wasn't up to scratch.

Riad Norma was beauifully decorated with a particulary appealing court yard including small pool. The staff were attentive and our room was big and beautiful.

My only concern was the price, for which I paid half in a similar place in Marrakesh.

“very authentic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

We stayed for 4 nights in November 09 and we thought its a very beautiful, authentic Riad. We even got a room upgrade - in the Tosca room, quite big!

The general decor is so nice, mosaics...traditional moroccan...very nice garden/pool...You can tell the owner Monique has put alot of heart and soul into renovating this place.

One thing that was a bit weird is that the bathtub/shower in our room was next to to a window overlooking part of a school playground and there were no curtains...Don't think you could see much from the outside as it was small window with bars etc for security..but still...a tad weird. And also the towels smelled of cigarettes, not very pleasant.

Monique the owner seems to be present in the courtyard/dining area at all times, during meals etc, she is nice and very welcoming and talks to the guests but having her around constantly was just a little uncomfortable.

Abdelkader one of the staff members was very helpful in giving us advice and organising some excursions for us. The breakfast and dinner was amazing, very very yummy!
