“DO NOT STAY HERE!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I've written DO NOT STAY HERE in capital letters because I want to emphasize it. Despite it being gorgeous in surface beauty that is where it ends. The service is snarly at best, the food overpriced (400 dh for dinner!!!) and simply re-heated if it is heated at all (despite claims they have four chefs on the team), the rooms are dirty and cold. The pool is not heated, and even if it was, you would not want to go in it given all the bird poop and birds. The owner is eccentric and has a full time job elsewhere and despite a warm welcome, that's all you'll get from him. DO NOT STAY HERE. You can do much, much better elsewhere.

“A perfect place”

My wife and I went to the Sheherazade and we lived an incredible experience. The Ambassador Suite we had was very distinguished and the roof in sculpted cedar was simply gorgeous. We also appreciated the large traditionnal bathroom and the Jaccusi. The Service was extremely attentive, very friendly and professional. We asked the Hotel to organise a tour around the Medina which was very intrusting and you should definitly visit this incredible.
The restaurant is the masterpiece of this Palace. In fact, the moroccan food was simply delicious and the athmosphere inside the patio with its century old palms, the luxuriant garden, the marble columns... was incedibly romantic. We tried a lot of other restaurants in Fes and around Morocco since we stayed 20 days in Morocco and this was definitly the best meal we had in this great country.
We also heard that the hotel was opening soon a panoramic french restaurant and a huge Spa so we will definitly be comming back.

“Pretty Riad let down by food and service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We stayed for 2 nights in October 2011. The riad has a good location in the medina and it is a stunning place with lots of character. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. The food was distinctly average, bland and very overpriced. Head just a few streets into the medina for much more flavoursome and better priced fare. The pool is small and very public as it is next to the bar and restaurant area. Our room was noisy with what sounded like the boiler lighting up every few seconds. Fortunately we are heavy sleepers.

Overall ok accomodation in a good location but i'm sure there are plenty more, better value riads close by. We wouldn't leap to book again.

Room Tip: Fortunately we are very heavy sleepers as there was a lot of clunking and noise coming from the pipe...

“A wonderful place a charming and warm welcome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

We staid for days in this hotel at the start of the Ramadan and there was at that time an obvious lack of visitors. We received a VIP treat, the room was updated to a master suite, they supplied a professional guide that took us everywhere around - the choice of the guide makes the difference - the food is globally exceptionnal. Breakfast are served with all sorts of pastries and bread just from the oven, fruit juices just squeezed, wonderful honey and homemade jams, it wass nicely presented with a 5 stards hotel type of service. We had our meals on the central patio, next to the swimming pool. Dinners were really upscale, the quality of the food, the inventivity of the chef, were there every single day. The chef has invented a fresh and dry fruits couscous, which is wonderful. The pigeon pastilla is at his best. and the traditional deserts of honey pastries and orange cardamon salad just heaven !!!
This is a place to go and a den out of time and stress. The perfect lace to read books and enjoy the time with the sounds of the medina in background. The owner and the two maitre d'hotels have reached perfection.

“hit and miss”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

I stayed at the riad on Oct 3, 2011 for 3 days. A strange place. The environment is nice but the hotel is poorly managed. The staff uniforms are worn out and not clean, the carpets in the bedroom are stained, food was very average. The pool area is nice but as you lie in your bathing suit next to dinners, there is no place comfortable to relax and fall asleep. Sevice was nice but management is the issue. There are better located, better managed, more comfortable riads around.
