“I can not recommend this hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

I stayed here 2 nights.

Rooms are nice, very large bed of 2m, very good location at the meanstreet in the ville nouvelle (blv hassan II).

I had a bad feeling about the staff. Didn't feel very at home in this hotel.

The door of the balcony was forced (by thieves?) and could not be locked. I told this the next morning at the reception and they promissed me it would be fixed that same day (they already knew about it), but when I came back in the evening it was not fixed. At the reception they told not to be scared because there was security at the hotel.

The hotel is noisy, you hear the music of the disco downstairs, although I stayed at the 6th floor.

Breakfast is poor quality.

It has no swimmingpool.

I would not recommend this hotel.

“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 March 2009

Spent there one night although originally was going to stay there three nights. The hotel has a night club which keeps you awake all the night. I had a room on the fifth floor but despite of this the noise from the club was unbearable. I woke up at 1 am and went down to the reception asking to turn down the music. Surprisingly I was told I was the only one to complain although all the rooms were occupied including the ones on the first and second floors.
Breakfast pretty poor - tepid coffee and some cakes.
They have a price list at the reception but come out with good number of reasons why you have to pay extra (paid 936 dirham for double instead fo 900 dirham as listed at the reception). One has an impression they are trying to fool you.
They are supposed to be 4-star hotel but even according to the Moroccan standards they should not get more than two. NEVER AGAIN!

“Never go there”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2008

The hotel has its own night club, and that can be heard all over the hotel.
So sleeping is not possible between midnight and 04:00.
I left the 2nd night, while I had booked and payed for 5 nights.
Later I noticed Hotel Club had removed at least 2 negative remarks on this hotel that mentioned the noise of this night club

“You get what you pay for!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2008

In Europe the Wassim would be rated 1 or 2 star, so don't be fooled by the '4 star' category. It's a circa 1970s building in need of renovation and redecoration. Having said this, it's in an excellent central location with cafes and restaurants nearby, the staff were very helpful and the room was clean. Can't say we rated the breakfast (coffee, bread, jam and watered-down orange juice), but for £36 per room per night, it was still a bargain. Make sure you ask for a room on one of the higher floors - even the receptionist admitted that noise from the nightly disco in the basement (opens at 12 am, closes at 4 am!) can be a problem.

Would we stay there again? Yes, but 2 nights would probably be enough...

“Not awful but there must be better.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2007

The Wassim is in the new town and as such is in quite an isolated location (in terms of restaurants etc.).

The hotel is a rather dull 1980s affair which although is comfortable enough is rather depressing.

The rooms were a reasonable size and were clean enough. The food in the restaurant was pretty poor but due to the location it was hard to find anything else to eat.

The bar was the epitome of the 1980s and was somewhere to avoid.

The hotel staff were friendly enough but few spoke any English.

Not awful but there must be better.
