“Ok, but good for Casablanca standards”

I stayed in the Novotel on December 2011 after reading many terrible reviews for most of the hotels in Casablanca. The hotel isn't that bad it was clean and safe. The problem was more with the staff and service. The staff was quite rude. We arrived a day before our parents and while checking in told them if we can have rooms next to each other or at least on same floor near. They said sure no problem only to put my parents on another floor no where near us. We asked them about it and they told my parents that your only here for one night how can you expect to ask us for this. It doesn't matter how many days we stay this is not an acceptable way to speak to a customer. Very rude behavior by the concierge. Also you have to wait 30 minutes for them to change your money. Another reason we had picked this hotel was the free shuttle service offered to the new Morocco Mall. We signed our name and went on the bus. But when my parents tried to do the same thing the next day they said you can't, you must sign 24 hrs in advance, this is ridiculous no where did it say that. When you offer a service you should be clear about it and not change or say otherwise when you feel like it. Overall this is a good hotel for Casablanca which doesn't have many to choose from but overpriced, internationally this hotel just OK.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

While the location was pretty good, the service at reception could use some serious improvement. The front desk was far from helpful (or friendly). I am beginning to think average service is what should be expected from Accor Hotels based on other recent experiences.

The rooms were sufficient and comfortable. Additional pillows on the bed would have been nice. The restaurant/bar in the lobby was actually a great place to relax after a long day visiting the area sites.

This hotel would be very similar to a 3-star hotel in the USA. Clean room, good value.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on business. I am Moroccan born and I found the hotel staff not adequate at all. They are rude and unwelcoming, the reception staff are the worse. The rooms are ok. The internet in the lobby is free but if you try to use the broadband in your room, altough there is no mention of it anywhere; you will be charged for it at an extortionate price !!!!! avoid using it !!!! I went to the reception to ask for a extra complementary little tiny milk pod and I was told Th at I will be charged for it by the reception !!!! go out and get 1 litre of milk from the shops outside; and have breakfast outside it will cost you nothing !!! in Morocco they want, apparently, the tourists to go elswhere, and I will be going to Thailand and I will stop spending my money in my own country !!!!!!!

“Good quality-price ratio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I stayed four nights at the Novotel Casablanca city centre. I booked through the official website and paid € 111 net per night for a standard room (called “superioir room”), including taxes, excluding breakfast. The check-in was done quickly and efficiently and the receptionist was nice. My room was on the 10th floor, towards the front side of the hotel. The view was amazing, with the port, the city centre and the impressing Hassan II mosque in the back. The room was well sized and decently decorated, equipped with a small flat screen TV, a very functional working area, a comfortable double bed, an air-conditioning system, a mini bar and a sofa. Coffee and tea was available for free, water had to be paid for. The room was clean, but the carpet was stained. The isolation is excellent, I didn’t hear any noise from inside or outside of the hotel. An important argument in a noisy and busy city like Casablanca.
There was a cable internet connection available, at a fair price: 1 week cost ~ € 20. But unfortunately it was very slow during peak times. The mini bar prices were fair.
The bathroom was well sized and seemed to be nice, with a big shower. Unfortunately, there was a lot of mould in the shower corners and the plastic shower tub was cracked. I don’t understand why hotels of this class accept such deficiencies, as it would be easy and cheap to resolve it.
The restroom was separated from the bathroom, which I found comfortable. It was disinfected every day.
I didn’t have breakfast, nor did I try the restaurant. The bar is very nice and comfortable.
The hotel is very conveniently located, just 5 minutes from the ancient Medina and the port away. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around. The Hassan II mosque is a 10 minutes drive away, the "Corniche", the famous nightlife district with a lot of bars, restaurants, nightclubs etc., is a 15-20 minutes drive away. The airport is 30-40 minutes away.
Overall, the Novotel is a good choice, just the mould in the shower is a no go.

“Clean and comfortable and well situated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

As you would expect of a large chain, which was just what we wanted after a trip to lovely Marrakesh. Well situated within walking distance of the medina and nice restaurants (note that lots are not open on Sunday evening or Monday morning). The evening meal we had was not fabulous but nice fresh veg. Club sandwich for lunch VERY stale bread but lots of chips and nice salad. Room was spotless and comfortable with a somewhat uninspiring view, 6th floor at the back. There were tea and coffee facilities (not usual in Morroco it seems) but very tight on supplies.
Please Novotel Casablanca, why have you got cushions scattered about on the foor in reception? Surely my husband cannot have been the first person to have very nearly gone flying because of them, twice!

Room Tip: Go high for a better view.
