“The location was all it had going for it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

The staff at this hotel were the most unhelpful I encountered in my 2 week stay in Morocco. They completely ignore you and continue to talk amongst themselves or to their friends when they can see you standing there waiting. The bed was hard as they all are in Morocco. There was good shower pressure & temperature though. The sound in the hallways echos and you can hear street noise so light sleepers will not get a decent nights sleep. The breakfast was sticky pastries, fake orange juice, olives, cheese & bread - which turned out to be pretty standard fare in Moroccan hotels. The location was great though, right near the Medina.

“Totally OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2010

Neither bad or good. Morocco Clean-meaning they don't bother with walls or corners, etc. If they don't expect you to touch it, why bother cleaning it. The people seemed friendly, but were unable to direct me to a place for toiletries.( There is a supermarket 5 blocks away, and a little store 2 blks from hotel.)
The room was large with big furniture, but just something was off.
Breakfast was an uneventful bread and hard boiled eggs.
I was with a tour, so not sure the price, but it was ok and in a decent location. I walked to the Medina and other places of interest.
WifI in the lobby only.

“Good location but the hotel is in need of renovation”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

This was the hotel chosen by our tour group to start and end our tour of Morocco. Surly reception staff a room that the lights and air conditioner didn't work sum up the experience.

I don't think any of the airconditioners actually work in any of the rooms.

It is is in a good location but it is in need of renovation of the interior and of the staff. The receptionists all of them seem to be uninterested in you when you approach them, even for a simple request.

Breakfast is basic to say the least. There are no laundry facilities and the staff won't give you directions to a laundry.

“Little ambiance but convenient location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2010

Don't depend on Google Maps to lead you to this hotel as it doesn't give the right location. The hotel is located about 1 block west of the Casa Sheraton, just south of the Avenue de l'Armee Royal. It is convenient to the Medina and the Central Market. The main customers appear to be Moroccan businessmen and small tour groups (I was with a tour group). The room I had was roomy and clean but showed wear and tear. The rooms and the hotel have little ambiance but are serviceable. Since I was on tour I can't comment on the price or value. For cheap eats, walk a couple of blocks to the food stalls across the street from the west side of the Central Market. Lots of places selling roast chicken, etc. If you're on your own there are probably better places to stay in Casablanca.

“Friendly staff made a single girl's stay in Casablanca feel very safe and comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2010

As a young female solo traveller I was happy to stay in this hotel for the five nights I visited Casablanca. During my flight from Paris I met a few travellers who expressed concern over the safety of internet bookings so I was very relieved when I arrived and the hotel did actually exist! My expectations were quite low as it was my first time visiting Morocco and I had read several mixed travel reviews. However I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel, I found that room was very spacious, the bed was very large and while the furnishings were not modern, it was very clean with a huge bathroom and bathtub. In the mornings the hum of the traffic from the street below was a bit loud but seriously, who wants to sleep in when you are on holiday and have a new city to explore?
I didn't try eating in the restaurant so I can't comment on that. What I really liked about this hotel was the friendliness of the concierge staff, the men who worked on the door were really kind and very helpful. They would accompany me to show me where to buy a phone card, how to use the payphones to call home, to call a taxi and even to the closest internet cafe. As I was a female travelling on my own I sometimes found it a bit daunting to go out on my own in downtown Casablanca but the concierge staff was very polite and helpful. It was probably this experience and the personal touch to their service that has made the hotel stay a positive one for me. I had very little expectations and after reading reviews of bed bugs and dirty rooms I was pleasantly surprised. However when travelling in other countries it is always important to remember that the rooms are rated by their standards... and the price is a good recommendation of what you will get.
The rooms were cleaned every morning, I actually asked them not to bother with mine a couple of times as I was hardly there during the day. I was impressed with the space of the room, the location was in down-town Casa which is not really that pretty but it is not hard to get to the beach and to shops with a mini-taxi, the concierge were helpful and knowledgeble of the area and I found it good value for money.
