Having traveled extensively around the world, Hotel Rivoli is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. While in Casablanca on business I had the unfortunate experience of staying there for ten nights.
My first problem with the establishment is the fact that it is infested with cockroaches, in my room, the bathroom and the lobby, and these were not small cockraches - they were large and in abundance. Secondly, the room itself was barely cleaned daily; the sheets were not changed during the ten days I was there. Thirdly, the staff working on reception were rude and unhelpful – they were not even able to provide me with directions to a nearby café. When the key card to my room did not work one evening I waited half an hour for someone to give me a new one. Generally as a woman traveling alone I felt that their attitude was somewhat chauvinistic and that a 'silly' woman like me obviously cannot operate a key card. The hotel 'business' centre was a joke, the printer and computer were so antiquated that they were not even working and when asking if there were other facilities the reply was a direct 'no' without a hint of offering where else I might be able to print/fax documents. Finally, the breakfast on offer was unhealthy, mainly sweet pastries, and the only plate of fruit they had included a rotten and moldy plum - appetizing.
Overall this hotel is horrible, it is not a four star hotel as it advertises itself. Even though the location is central, do not stay here!
