“4* rated is 2* too many”

Probably chic in the 1970s, this place hasn't moved one inch since then. Dim lighting & tinted mirrors everywhere hide some of its faded glory. Needs a major facelift. Room fridge didn't work & the waiter got a shock trying to see what was wrong. Bed was fine, had a good night's sleep. 3 out of the 5 restaurants were closed for 'renovations'. Overall, a pity the whole place wasn't closed for renovations. One to avoid unless you're a 'post hippy' trying to relive the past.

“Value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2010

I have stayed in this hotel twice and find this hotel safe and value for money. Breakfast provided by the hotel is also very good. Their staff is very cooperative. Cleanliness in the hotel is also good.

“Hell in a hotel room”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2010

Having traveled extensively around the world, Hotel Rivoli is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. While in Casablanca on business I had the unfortunate experience of staying there for ten nights.

My first problem with the establishment is the fact that it is infested with cockroaches, in my room, the bathroom and the lobby, and these were not small cockraches - they were large and in abundance. Secondly, the room itself was barely cleaned daily; the sheets were not changed during the ten days I was there. Thirdly, the staff working on reception were rude and unhelpful – they were not even able to provide me with directions to a nearby café. When the key card to my room did not work one evening I waited half an hour for someone to give me a new one. Generally as a woman traveling alone I felt that their attitude was somewhat chauvinistic and that a 'silly' woman like me obviously cannot operate a key card. The hotel 'business' centre was a joke, the printer and computer were so antiquated that they were not even working and when asking if there were other facilities the reply was a direct 'no' without a hint of offering where else I might be able to print/fax documents. Finally, the breakfast on offer was unhealthy, mainly sweet pastries, and the only plate of fruit they had included a rotten and moldy plum - appetizing.

Overall this hotel is horrible, it is not a four star hotel as it advertises itself. Even though the location is central, do not stay here!

“This hotel has turned itself around and is now great”

My agent booked this hotel without my knowledge as I gave him carte blanch as a local to know what would be best. Reading previous comments here all I can comment on is that it must have had a huge turn around under the new management. It was clean and comfortable, the appointments including the over the bed lights worked, the service was excellent, breakfast more than adequate. As a solo female traveller I also felt very safe and well looked after.

While I only had one night on arrival I was quite prepared to return to the same hotel however finished up with a night in Rabat as the weather complicated the issue

My room had a superb view of the Hassan II mosque.
