“Standard Ibis Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Asked for a quiet room, was given one overlooking the pretty garden and railway station. Thankfully I was so tired the sound of the trains didn’t bother me. On the plus side, being close to the station was very handy with getting to/from the airport cheaply. I didn’t like that the bar was 100% smoking – hard to adjust to after being in Europe – you would have thought that a European chain would at least have a non-smoking section?

“The worst Ibis I have ever stayed in.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

The only good part of this hotel is 1. it's across the parking lot from the Casa Voyageur - the main train station in Casablanca (which is not a good neighborhhood) and 2. they will store your luggage after you check out and want to tour the city for the day. Other than that it was horrible. My wide and I arrived late at night after getting off the train from Marrakech. The desk clerk spoke some English but the porter did not. It was a warm night (even in December) and we were told all the hotel's air conditioning is centrally controlled (i.e. no controls in each room) and it had been turned off because it was winter. We had to open our window to cool down, to noisy street traffic. The bed had no top sheet, only a bedsheet and a duvet cover, so the bed was not clean to sleep in. There were no hand towels or face cloths in the bathroom. The carpets and chairs in our room were stained. The room was decrepit looking. The elevator only fits two people and small luggage, if you can stack it. Our large backs had to be carried up two flights of stairs. The breakfast was average and there was free internet, but no way to print out things (like flight reservations). In Casablanca, spend the extra money and get a better place. It's worth it. This hotel does not deserve to be part of the Ibis chain (which I think is usually a good value for the money, and we like to stay at them).TIP: Never use a taxi from in front of the train station. They will charge you about three times the rate other taxis will in the city.

Room Tip: Make sure your room does not face the train tracks. Ask for one facing the street. Othwerwise it wil...

“Typical Ibis”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

It wasnt my choice, i was here for a meeting, but the entrance was foreboding with works all around and no one to help me carry my bags inside. The first room i got was overlooking the train tracks, but luckily and with some persistence the receptionist gave me another room. Relatively clean, but still some hairs to be found on the shower walls and the floor carpeting (not carpeting but something made of plastic) had many spots. Wifi available only at reception area and possibly also in the corridors but that was also an area where people smoked too so it was difficult for me to use those areas. Breakfast of very poor quality, and i didnt try any other meals there. The only advantage is proximitty ti the train station if one is traveling around or for easy airport access.

“Perfect for 1 night stay, and close to train!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

If you need a place to put your head before heading anywhere else in Morocco, and dont feel like having to catch another taxi, or find your way, or negotiate a gain, this would be the spot. Walk out the door of the station, turn left, and walk into the hotel.
Clean. Tidy. Decent food (including pasta to make a change from Moroccan), varied breakfast to suit all tastebuds.
Convenient. No ramp at door and you have to climb multiple steps to get to automatic doors.
Very good service. Like the train timetable in reception. Manager on duty was excellent. Staff in restaurant friendly.
Free internet console in reception which is great to quickly check flights, or email.
Quiet - but ensure you book for the road side not the train side (or overlooking the garden) as i can imagine this must be noisy.
Relaxed garden outside, where there is a patio, and you can take your meal.
It was winter, and the rooms were warm, and we were very comfy.
TV with BBC & CNN!! Yay.
Liek the fact that they are trying to be eco-conscious and ask people to turn out lights and dont change your towels everyday.

Room Tip: Choose the road side, not the rooms over looking garden as you will hear trains all night I am sure...

“Less than 24 hours in Casa? Stay here!”

We stayed in this hotel on the first night of our trip to Morocco after flying in to the airport. We chose to stay here because of its convenience to the train station, as we were leaving the next afternoon for Fes.

For that reason, this hotel was a perfect choice. It was literally next door to the train station, which meant it was easy for 2 jet lagged people like us to drop our stuff, go to dinner, and see some sights the next morning.

It was also easy to get cabs from the hotel and it was easy to tell cabs where to drop us back off because all we had to say was "casa voyageurs."

We agree with the other reviews -- rooms are simple and staff is friendly. Definitely the best choice for a very quick stopover. We'd stay here again in the same situation.
