“Very Relaxing and luxurious. Great Food.”

Had a really relaxing spoilt time. Very quiet mainly older French couples. The food was really
lovely, we went out one night for a moroccan meal and the fod was better in the hotel. The itialian resturant has very nice food to you can go there once a week only (shame). The weather for the last week of Jan was very nice about 82f eavery day although it did get a
bit windy some afternoons and a bit chilly, needed jeans and cardy in the evening, but My husband and I got a lovely tan. The room was lovely very clean and was cleaned and new towels everyday. The staff were polite and very friendly. There are an allsortment of bars
and shops along the beach its a bit touristy along there and you do get bothered a bit by people selling sunglasses and bar people, but there ok if you just give them a smile and carry on walking. I was amazed the you layed by the pool and they brought you your drinks in glasses (how very civilized lol) and if you asked for coke you actually got a can of coke and not horrid cheap draft stuff. I only swam in the pol once asnd it was very cold although
they said the small one was heated on a little bit warmer thand the big pool. The towel man is very nice, its worth getting firendly with him as he will look after you and give you two towells each and save you a good sunbed each day, also they I got out of the pool he held out a dry towel for me. Worth a 150hr tip. All in all had a wonderful relaxing time. There were no children there at all, they said they do cater for children but I think they would be a bit bored there. I think I would if perhaps I was there for two weeks instead of one, but then I would probably go further a field and perhaps do a trip of two. Very good holiday would go back again. Great for a romantic couple holiday. Enjoy.

Room Tip: The best rooms are on the 3rd floor 300 - 333. Great views.

“Hmmmmmm..........”

I certainly want to be fair here. Went to Agadir on business and group felt this hotel would be a good pick. It wasn't. Full disclosure: I have never in my life been in an "all inclusive resort". For me was bewildering. Why isn't there Bombay Sapphire Gin in bar? Why only Gordon's? Because they don't charge you for drinks so you drink what they have. OK.... get it. Why crappy internet? Is a holiday place, who really needs it when on vacation? I wasn't on vacation.
Was in a group and all of us were underwhelmed but the other guests milling around all seemed to be having fun so??????

All seemed boring and sterile.

Room Tip: Stay far away from the main bar as music plays late into the night.

“Royal Atlas - a name to remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Having visited Agadir more than a dozen times to catch the guaranteed January sunshine, we were dismayed to find that the Thomson/First Choice group are dropping the Royal Atlas from their winter brochures.

It is in the best possible location, beachside in the centre of Agadir's four-mile promenade and is easily one of the most attractive hotels in town.

Although we were all inclusive, we were met by smiling and willing staff wherever we went and their attitude was spot-on no matter what you asked (One tip - don't bark across the restaurant at them like some English guests did and guess who then got the slowest sevice).

The buffets were unbelievable with a vast selection of items plus at least six speciality dishes every night as well as chefs permantently on call to make omelettes, scrambled eggs, pancakes, crepes, etc etc etc)

The rooms are well maintained and the swimming pool area is well laid-out and serviced by some more willing staff.while a whole section of the vast beach is also reserved exclusively for Royal Atlas guests.

Why Thomsons are dropping the Royal Atlas must be the biggest mystery of the year and the large number of British regulars will now have to travel independently to get to their favourite hotel. Easyjet here we come!

“Fantastic holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We stayed at the Royal Atlas in October 2011. Fantastic value for money, and quite possibly the best holiday i have ever had. Our room was immaculate, we couldn't fault it at all, our bed was changed/made every day, fresh towels provided every day, and in general the room service, cleanliness and appearance were of a very high standard. Our room overlooked the pool area which was lovely, always clean, and we were impressed to see staff cleaning out the pools every night and jet washing the terraces and sides of the pool every morning.
The pool area itself was fantastic, always blessed with sunlight, and the pool bar was great with very helpful staff and great food.
We ate in L'Oceane restaurant every day and found the food to be fresh, with most of it being cooked to order. Authentic moroccan dishes were served daily, along with fresh salads, friut and breads.
The Italian restaurant was marvellous, my food looked so amazing that i didn't want to eat it! All the hotel waiters were extremely attentive and couldn't do enough for us. I think it helped that we were respectful and gave them the time of day, rather than ignoring them and being dismissive and demanding, as other guests were being.
The hotel entertainment was interesting, with Moroccan belly bancers and Berber groups, this took place in the ground floor Stone Bar which was always well stocked and the staff were very accommodating. The excursions were optional and reasonably priced, although I would leave the horse riding until the last day as the stiff muscles slightly hindered my enjoyment of other things!
All in all, a wonderful relaxing holiday that we cannot fault. The luxury of the hotel, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the relaxing atmosphere and the high standards of decor and cleanliness were impressive.
To all those people who have grumbled about the food, entertainment etc, I would say that if you don't like Moroccan food, Morocan people and the Moroccan culture - then don't go to Morocco!
We will definately be returning in the very near future, and have reccommended this hotel to several of our family, friends and work colleagues!

“Brilliant!! ....as always”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We had a week at the Atlas in Mid December and were again impressed by the level of service and quality of food offered to all guests.

The main buffet restaurant is well set out, always a good choice of hot and cold dishes, try the Moroccan dishes, they are changed nightly and were delicious. The desserts and breads are to die for!! Breakfast is for me the best meal of the day, croissants, fresh breads and hot and cold selections are very good.

The main bar is open in the evening, entertainment is very low key, which does not suit everyone. Personally I find this very relaxing and makes it much easier to chat and catch up with friends and fellow guests. The pool bar is also good, the waiters friendly and the drinks choices are excellent.
I see that a previous TA member has visited the 3? star Caribbean Village. I find it hard to believe that anyone could prefer the inane entertainment offered there ( I had the misfortune to stay there a few years ago and had a terrible holiday, mostly due to the guests who insisted on filling their tables with drinks like they were never getting another but also because of the rude waiters, repetitive "entertainers" and small unkempt rooms with no lifts or air conditioning.

Rooms at the Atlas are a good size, comfortable and clean, the housekeeping staff are a friendly bunch, nothing is too much trouble for the girls.

Pools are very well kept and clean too. There is one heated pool and always lots of loungers. The Hotel is right next to the promenade and beach and lunch is available whilst you are on the beach. The sunsets are spectacular from the area in front of the pool bar, so relaxing to watch with a drink.

Do try the speciality restaurants in the hotel, they offer a lovely selection of food and drinks. Can,t wait for our next trip to Agadir.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view.
